We eat not to fill our stomach but for sensory pleasures..at least when we go to a restaurant or place like we like to indulge ourselves. Recently, I have started to think to visit new places and eat a different variety of cuisines and not to stick to one brand. Barbeque Nation is no exception.
I have been to this place twice in Virar. When it is the first time, your whole experience is new, fresh and pleasurable. On your second and subsequent visits, it sort of becomes boring. You know what is expected on your table and what they are going to offer. Your tongue now knows the taste already. The first time I went with my family, I was taken back to see burning sigree right on my table!
They offer a wide variety of buffet including a pre set menu which you also call it as Buffet. They offer veg and non-veg variety along with kebabs, etc which is also their specialty.
16/05/24 IMPORTANT UPDATE: Earlier, when you used to tip them, they would say that your feedback was enough. Nowadays, they straight charge you a 'SERVICE CHARGE' OF Rs.59.90 in your bill and also charge GST on it- which I think is totally wrong. Search google for it and you will come to know of it.
The customer service of this particular outlet has deteriorated recently. The reception staff, Purva is especially rude and very DETERMINED not to accommodate you on a different table if you wish to. The server will talk to you in such a low and weak voice that you will literally need to wear hearing amplifier and may also need Hindi subtitles! They will not refill your starters unless you ask them thrice. Earlier, they used to ask you whether you need any customization, now they do not proactively say that. You should be knowing that thing.
When you leave, just pray that you do not meet the reception staff, Purva again. As soon as you see her coming towards you, RUN! - cause she is going to tell you to rate them EXCELLENT and if you rate them GOOD, then that would be a complaint. Seriously?!!!
My suggestion is to enjoy their tandoor or barbeque dishes only with some kulfi later on which is included in their rate. The buffet has variety but for me it was just like any other ordinary wedding like food.
If you are going to satisfy your barbeque needs, then stick with only that food which is incidentally their starters. You can order as much you want and also customize the spices as per your taste. That is one of the best USP I liked. Also, for dessert, I would recommend their different variety of kulfis. Your kids would love it.
One thing that I did not like was that sometimes the waiters keep staring at you while you are eating. More than being attentive, it interferes your privacy and also rude in my eyes. In the name of customer service, they keep on nagging you again and again whether everything is okay. 3 or 4 different staff come and ask you the same thing.
If you ask me whether the price for the buffet is worth it or not, then I would say for Rs.500, it is totally worth. However, the rates are around Rs.850 or so. Also, if your child is just 10 years, then they would charge full adult price! In my opinion, it is certainly be a good experience if you visit it just for once.
PS: Oh...I forgot to tell you about one last thing. If it is your birthday, then just inform them and they would offer you a free cake and also wish you a...

Read moreFrom the moment you step in, the inviting aroma of freshly prepared dishes sets the tone for a satisfying meal.
The buffet spread offers a diverse selection, featuring everything from appetizers to desserts. The starters are crispy and well-seasoned, while the main course includes a mix of comforting classics and flavorful specialties. The live counters, where chefs prepare fresh dishes on demand, add an interactive touch to the dining experience.
One of the standout features is the unlimited serving policy, allowing diners to indulge in their favorite dishes without restrictions. The quality of the food remains consistent, even with the generous portions. The desserts section is equally impressive, with a range of sweet treats that provide the perfect ending to the meal.
Main Course: In the main course, I tried butter naan with egg curry, and I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was. The naan was soft and well-made, and the egg curry had a good balance of spices. However, I did notice that mutton items were missing from the menu today, which was a bit disappointing, especially for meat lovers looking for variety.
Desserts & Drinks: The kulfi was another highlight — rich, creamy, and a perfect end to the meal. They offer four different complimentary soft drinks; I tried the fresh lime water, which was refreshing and my personal favorite.
Conclusion: Barbeque Nation, Virar offers a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience, especially if you're a fan of seafood. The prawns are a must-try, and there are plenty of options to enjoy across starters, mains, and desserts. With minor improvements in the chicken texture and the inclusion of mutton items, the experience would be...
