It was our Marriage Anniversary and we were researching for restaurants on our favourite website Zomato for that perfect experience. The inspiration of visiting a restaurant on our Marriage anniversary came from our Honorable CM Arvind Kejriwal who takes his wife out to their favourite chinese restaurant on their anniversary. Not a bad idea at all. Turns out our busy politicians are romantics too. :)
After a few minutes of research, we zeroed on Tippling Street in the Rajouri Garden area. No prior reservations are required so Saturday evening we walked up to the place and it looked like a busy weekend for the management. They have a desk at the entrance on the ground floor where guests are guided to the 2nd floor for entry. It appeared the first floor was occupied by some other establishment.
The first thing one notices on entering the property is their impressive, imposing bar area with floor to ceiling racks of different kinds of booze bottles. The tables were occupied on the second floor so we quietly walked up to the third floor where we chose a seat near the bar railing where we could enjoy the view of the imposing bar, listen to the music and taste our food.
One of the Staff members arrived with the menu as soon as we were seated. We ordered Starters: Tom & Jerry (Stir fried fish in Chilli Garlic sauce) and Make your own platter Non-Veg (Chicken Tikka in 3 different spicy flavors), Main Course: Lungi Dance Chicken with Malabari Parantha and Concoction drinks: Paradise Island (Vodka with watermelon, peach, orange and cranberry with mint) and Banarsi Paan Mojito.
First the drinks arrived and Paradise Island was an absolute delight. The taste and flavour were pleasant and thin slices of fresh watermelon in the drink were sheer joy to the taste buds. The Banarsi Paan Mojito was good, except that it had a stronger lime lilt to it that made us vote for ‘Paradise island’ as the better part of our ‘Cocktail’ experience.
The crispy stir-fried fish stood out among the starters. It was tastefully done with a crisp layer outside and tender flesh inside. The garnishing, level of spicyness and food presentation was really good.
The main course was a slightly disappointing because both Lungi chicken and Malabar Parantha were below expectations. The chicken pieces and gravy were regular stuff and Malabar Parantha looked almost like buttered Tandoori Roti.
Nevertheless, it was a good experience visiting the outlet. Polite staff, a clean spacious property, music in the background and quick, timely service added to the positive experience.
Thank you to the staff of Tippling Street for hosting us and making our...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE I booked my table at tippling Street for an anniversary event 2 days before the event. I asked for particular area rooftop which I was promised that it will be provided at any time that wish to have. While booking I even asked for if I need a receipt or something for it they clearly said no. I even informed them prior that i will decorate the area on my own without harming their property. They said they have no issues. Then when I reached the place for decorating they said that the area is booked and asked to leave early and refused me to decorate the area they denied everything they said before. And told me another party has booked the place after you so we cant give that are to you. Then after a lot of request (which technically i am not supposed to do but did it to not ruin the event) i finally got the area and I left the place to come back again after sometime. I saw they removed my decoration removed the balloon behind my back . When I asked them about it they were very rude with me, they literally ruined the whole evening for me. The staff was literally shouting at me. Then when I warned them about filling complaint manager came and apologized to me asking If I want a brownie. They feel they could coverup for their behaviour by doing that. They spoilt my evening.
If this is the way tippling street behave with their guest i dont think they should even run the place, there are some ethics and professionalism which i think every person who is manging that area lacks, apart from some helpers they were really helpful they might not have the fancy designation that these managers had but they were much more polite, helpful and professional. And also had the basic decensy, the managers in the evening and after noon shift literally made my friend cry and were shouting at the top of their voice.
She stayed their till 9 pm i think the owner will know who was managing the place at that time.
I'm glad the people there addressed my issue and they accept their the mistake and they talked to me and said sorry for the same. I think everybody makes mistakes but what's important is to accept it. Therefore I take my...

We ordered a nachos, hot wings, honey chilli potato, paneer tikka and chikken tikka for starters. My non - vegetarian friends did not like the hot wings are all and felt like the chicken was not fresh & honey chilli potato was also not up to the taste either. We quite enjoyed both the tikka dishes, however.
For main course, we ordered a Vegetariana pizza, which we found completely tasteless. There was little to no sauce. We had to make do with ketchup and seasonings to add some sort of a taste. It was thin crust. If you donot prefer broccoli on your pizzas, please let them know beforehand because we definitely did not expect it to be there.
I had asked for fried rice and chilli paneer 'to go' for people back at home. The rice were all right, good number of veggies but not spicy at all. The chilli paneer was great, spicy and tasty. Both made a great combination.
Overall, it wasn't a very satisfactory experience because half of the food we ordered did not meet our expectations and felt like a waste of fime and money. But considering that we did like half of it, perhaps we just ordered the wrong dishes, ofcourse that does excuse how our lunch went. We did give an honest feedback and manager came to ask about the specifics, which was fair.
The quantity for all the dishes was...
