As soon as you enter the property you will get soothing vibes from the beautiful décor and wall paintings. Bengali ladies are known for their mesmerizing beauty and culinary skills. From hundreds of years we are celebrating Jamai Sosthi with great passion and enthusiasm. Jamai sits on Asan and delicious food is served in front of him. When the Jamai is worked up towards vanishing the lavish meal their mother in law ensures their comfort by fanning them. Well all these are beautifully depicted through wall paintings in this property. We decided to try out their OTB i.e. Other Than Bengali Food which satisfied our gastronomical thirst to the fullest. Let’s talk about the food that we tried in detail –
Chicken Crispy Wings – This delicacy is always a hot favorite amongst the youths. As you take a bite you will realize that they have named it perfectly. You will just love the crisp. The right amount of spice level and the tangy sauce will keep you glued till the last piece.
Gondhoraj Chicken – The soft juicy chicken pieces marinated well in Gondhoraj will conquer your taste bud for quite some time.
Crispy Chilli Baby Corn – Vegetarian starters can captivate you for quite some time. Crispy Chilli Baby Corn is really delicious and even its photograph will leave you drooling over it.
Charcoal Chicken – The very name of this dish gives a rustic feel. A small portion of burning charcoal is placed at the centre of the dish and slowly chicken soaks in the flavor. It goes well with naan/paratha/roti.
Chicken Tikka Butter Masala – This famous delicacy will give a burst of flavor as you dig into it. It’s spicy and creamy.
Caramel Custard – After all these spicy items you will surely look for some dessert and Caramel Custard will be a great option to look out for. It has a nice layer of caramel above the custard and is a must try for the sweet lovers.
Mojito – The delicious lemon based drink will surely help you digest all the food you take. Burp
Taste wise all the food were really amazing. We recommend this place for its flavorful delicacies.

Read moreRecently I visited Benjamin bangalee for a lunch and I'm glad that I chose them. We tried a lot of food and all of them were just amazing.
✓Chicken Jumbo roll: This was a 16' roll which had a stuffing of double eggs, big chunks of chicken and mutton, paneer and potatoes (optional) and sautéed vegetables. I just loved everything about this roll. The paratha in which the roll was rolled was very flaky and crispy. A much recommended item in their menu. Can be shared by 2-3 people or you can visit them on any Wednesday to be a part of their jumbo roll challenge.
✓Mixed chowmein: Another amazing item from their menu. The chowmein contained a lot of chicken prawns and eggs. Also they use two types of bell peppers (green and yellow) which I liked a lot.
✓Mixed fried rice: Just like the mixed chowmein even the mixed fried rice had a lot of chicken prawns and eggs. The rice was cooked perfectly. Just delicious!
✓Garlic chicken: The Garlic chicken really went well with both the rice and noodle items. The chicken pieces were soft and juicy. Absolutely delicious!
✓Chicken roast: We got a whole chicken roasted which was served along with its gravy and some sauted vegetables. The chicken was soft and moist from inside. Totally loved it. One of the best continental items I have tried so far. Highly recommended!
✓Charcoal chicken and laccha paratha: The charcoal chicken was the best item I tried that day. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had a smoky flavour which was acting like a taste enhancer. A must try item whenever you visit their place along with the laccha paratha.
✓ Fish diamond fry: I was happy to find out that this place uses bhetki fish fillets to make their fries unlike other places. And thus the fish fry was awesome! They served it along with some mustard sauce (kasundi) and french fries. Recommended!
✓ Chicken nuggets: Their chicken nuggets were similar to the ones we get at KFC but far better than KFC when it comes to taste. It was served it cheesy mayo and french fries. Highly recommended!
✓ Puja special thali: The puja special thali consist of - plain rice, sukto/navaratan korma, masala moong daal, jhuri aloo bhaja, parshe/pabda, katla mach er kalia, shorshe Ilish/ chingri mach er malai curry, mutton/chicken kosha, basanti pulao, khejur aamshotto chutney, and gajar ka halwa. All the items were very tasty and the the portion size were great. Two people can easily share this thali.
Overall I would definitely recommend this place because this place serves good quality food with an...

Although the name has Bangalee in it but Benjamin Bangalee is more than that. They are a multicuisine restaurant whose menu is so curated that takes into account all your favourite dishes across different cuisines. The location is prompt, easily accessible with the help of google. The interiors are simple yet charming. There is a separate section for smoking.
Back when I visited, there was a hookah lounge under construction attached to the main restaurant. So in the near future this place can become a go to place for teenagers. Now lets dive into the food without further delay.
Kicked off with a few starters from all the sections of the vast menu they have. Crispy Honey Chicken , Gondhoraj Pokora Crispy Chilly Babycorn and the popular Fish Fry. Both the crispy honey chicken and gondhoraj pokoras are boneless deep fried chicken preparations one with a touch of honey and the other with the lovely aroma of Gondhoraj lebu. Both equally satisfying for the tastebuds.
The fish fry was top notch as well. With a thick fillet of bhetki fish, wrapped inside a crunchy outer layer this can easily win your heart. Don’t forget to dip your fries inside kasundi.
Moving on to our main course which again lived upto our expectations after the stunning starters. Some combinations that are worth trying are Thakurbarir basanti pulao with smoked mutton kosha, Mutton Yakhni Pulao with Charcoal Chicken. Yakhni polao, if I am not wrong is a dish from Kashmir and is not easily available everywhere in Kolkata. So you might just land up here to try out something new yet something which matches our palate. Also the mutton kasha was cooked to perfection.
Finally ended our meal on a sweet note with their...
