China Garden Not What It Used to Be

I had high hopes returning to China Garden, but unfortunately, it’s not quite the same anymore. The place seems to have lost the charm it once had. While the portion sizes are still generous,definitely one of the few positives ..... the overall experience was underwhelming.

The food was very average in taste. Most of the dishes tasted quite similar, possibly due to the overuse of the same base sauces. There was also noticeable food coloring in some items, which was a bit off-putting. It felt like presentation was given more attention than the actual flavor.

That said, if you're someone who values big portions over fine flavors, it might still be worth a visit. But if you're going in expecting the same China Garden of the past, you might leave a little disappointed. It definitely could have...

About the hotel, I'm not sure but if it's about the restaurant, there is definitely other better places to eat. I remember ordering one fried rice and another for packing and they literally served two fried rice, like I couldn't even eat them. First of all, they don't pay attention to your order at all! Second, the quality of the food was really disappointing and when I asked them to pack it, the fried rice were wrapped up in paper. Talk about bad packaging! The quality of the food was not worth the price at all and the atmosphere, there's nothing like personal space. Situated next to the taxi stand and in the heart of kalimpong town makes it more than convenient location-wise! Rooms are well maintained, very decent support staff and specially the owners are very cooperative, understanding and warm couple! Anytime I need to lodge at kpg I will not hesitate to go back here!
