Hotel Kalash — Hotel in West Bengal

We had done our booking through OYO. As per location, the hotel is located right behind the Kalimpong bus stand, thus making it easier to communicate to different parts of the town. The hotel was a decent one. We were given a room right beside the hotel reception. But the hotel room does not have any fan or AC either, when it was quite hot outside. The TV was also not working. Moreover, the staff were non cooperative. As soon as we entered the hotel, at around 3 PM, the receptionist was complaining against OYO. This was the first hotel where there was no check-in procedure. We did not have to sign in the hotel registers. At around 5 PM they asked us for the ID cards and promised us to return it by 8 PM. After 8 PM, finding the reception empty, we called him over his mobile a number of times but he picked up only once, to share the WiFi password and to inform us that he will return the cards soon. At around 10 PM we gave him a final call and had to raise our voice in order to get back the ID cards, then he, within a few minutes, came and knock our doors & return our cards. On the next day morning we checked out at around 8:30 PM. There was no one in the reception at that time. We called on that mobile number in order to submit the keys. Been there with my family ...would recommend anyone to go for the deluxe 3X room as it has one of the most beautiful views overlooking the Mela Ground and Tibetan church. This establishment is conveniently located on Rishi Rd, the main road of the town with an ATM just opposite the street. Love the atmosphere and community although I must admit the shops on the main road are tourist traps. Venturing further away you will eventually find places which are well hidden away. Here the locals eat and their food is excellent . I did order food in the hotel and I'll just say it's ok. The momos were delightful but the idlis were cold and hard to the touch. The guy in the reception was very kind and generous. Room service was an issue because nobody was turning up. Nevertheless I had an enjoyable stay and would love to visit...

No water facility. If you ask, they will say water will be available in 5 mins as it is getting loaded in tanks. We wasted almost 3 hours of our journey waiting for water to come. Restaurants available but food is too costly. Hotel is on the main road of kalimpong, so you can never get snow hill view from here. Owner does not take the responsibility. If you have problem with noise while sleeping @night, do not go here as this place is surrounded with dogs and they bark there full night. I will never...
