One of the better Japanese places in Kolkata. Really good food, the Katsu was very delicious so were the Soba noodles. The price as per the quantity of the Teriyaki could have been a bit better but I won't complain since all the dishes we ordered were very tasty.
Coming to the service, we went on 12th January that too on a Sunday afternoon with a party happening in the Japanese forest so clearly they were heavily understaffed. One person was doing everything! From sitting people, taking their orders, getting the food, serving, getting the bill. He was the only one on the floor. However he was extremely kind and accommodating, very well versed with the menu and also rather apologetic about the whole situation. You should definitely reward this man. Single handedly managing the floor is no easy feat.
Few things about the restaurant itself, for the price you're charging, you should have more staff. I hate that one person is having to do so much. It's not ethical and rather worrying. Secondly the decor itself could do some work, the seats are quite close to each other and there's barely room to stand or walk. And finally, the menu card has quite a few mistakes.
Ratings : Food - 4 (the fried rice was just not it rest were good especially the Japanese dishes. Definitely get the katsu. Staff - 5 Despite everything, the one MVP was running everything in order. Ambience - 3 (no place to walk, the seats were not the most comfortable, the kitchen was right there beside the seat) Cleanliness - 4.5
I went on the birthday of my sister and in all honesty, I would have preferred if there were more staff working. The food took so long to arrive, the air con was especially not working well.
Overall Rating - 4 because of the kind service received by the gentleman. I really regret not getting his name but he has made me and my family a repeat customer. Such a patient and respectful person. Hope he is rewarded for his service.
Finally, Hire more people! Don't...
Read moreI visited a Japanese forest restaurant in eco park and the ambience of the place was nice.
If you prefer to eat inside and choose AC, then inside is not much spacious. All tables are for 2 and 4 people only and can't be joined. The time for your food to reach you depends on what kind of food you order. If you order complex ramen and sushi then it's going to take more time. When we visited, Indian and tandoor items weren't available.
The food quality is decent but preferably all items are only for one person and non-shareable.
We had 3 chicken halka noodles -660 ,1 plate schewan chicken(8piece)- 260,2 plates Delhi maki sushi (8p each plate) - 330, 1 bowl chicken miso ramen - 350/- and no complimentary water was served had to buy pet bottles including tax.
Overall experience inside the restaurant was rated as 3/5, food as 4/5, pricing as 3/5, ambience and space as 2/5, service as 3/5 and food serving time as 2/5. Overall rating is between 2.5-3/5.
