Mucktoo — Restaurant in West Bengal

Greetings.

I’m writing to share some feedback regarding a recent visit to your restaurant by two of my family members—my mother and my aunt. Based on my past experiences with Mucktoo, which have always been excellent in terms of both food and ambiance, I confidently recommended your restaurant to them. Unfortunately, this time their experience did not meet the expectations I had set.

They ordered Pad Thai, BBQ Chicken, and Momos in Chilly Oil. While the momos were just as good as always, they were quite disappointed with the other dishes. The BBQ Chicken was particularly underwhelming—it was extremely hard, as if it had been pre-cooked, deep-fried, and then sautéed in sauce. The texture and taste were not what we’ve come to expect from Mucktoo. As for the Pad Thai, they found it excessively salty and sweet, lacking the balance one expects from the dish.

Moreover, they felt let down by the service. The usual lady manager wasn't present, and the male staff member on duty did not offer any helpful suggestions or guidance. Though he assured them that the food would be excellent, the reality was unfortunately the opposite. Ultimately, they chose to pack the food but ended up discarding it due to the unsatisfactory taste and quality.

Mucktoo holds a special place in my heart, and I’ve always thought of it as my go-to place for Chinese cuisine. It’s disappointing to see a decline in quality and service. I hope you will take this feedback constructively and work toward maintaining the high standards that made Mucktoo so beloved in the first place.

The very notion of perseverance always has a sweet touch attached to it. Living in a world where fancy dishes may taste blunt and the simplest of preparations can touch your heart, Mucktoo located in Howrah is one such example of serving good food.

Minimal interiors, carving out its own space inside a now-defunct movie hall, a location which was once very popular among the neighbours, the homely ambiance and down to earth attitude shall surely make one fall in love with this place.

The food here is as good as you have in a fine fine restaurant. Using the best ingredients, expect authentic food either served hot and fresh right in front of you, or simply carry a parcel home done in bio degradable packaging.

Barring some of the high end restaurants and a few street food shops where getting a good quality Momo is almost a dream to come true, and even then you do not always get them perfect, head onto Mucktoo to savour delicious Mutton Momo and Chicken Momo in Chilli Oil.

Ultra thin wrapper packed with a juicy filling, both these Momos are as good as you may get in the hills. While there's never enough when it comes to eating Momos, do try some of their other dishes, including the ala carte options like Indo Chilly Chicken and their plethora of combos.

The best part here apart from the food is the pocket friendly prices and the warm hospitality and services. This is one place where you should not expect a grandeur or eye-catching decoration, but rather a soothing and pleasant experience making you want to come back to this quaint little place again and again.

As a huge fan of Chinese food, I am always in search of good Chinese Restaurant but it is hard to find one in Uttarpara. This evening I and my friend found this gem and our jaw dropped after having one bite of their food with wonder. We have tried several famous 5 star category restaurants but no wonder this hidden gem can compete them hard.

I have never had this kind of unique test and quality of food in Uttarpara before at such a reasonable price. Mind boggling experience it was.

We have tried Steam momo with chilli oil, Mutton momo, Thai basil momo, Chicken Sweet Corn soup and Iced Tea. The balance of spices, tanginess, sweetness is awesome. I recommend everybody to come here and taste their food. They have so many unique dishes. We will try each of them one by one.

We interacted with the owner. He is super humble and suggested us the best dishes. The waiter is very humble as well. The hospitality is wonderful and so homely there. We will go there as many times as we can.

All over our experience was awesome. We recommend everybody to try their food. Specially the Chilli oil momo and Thai Basil momo.

Cherry on top is that they even have a good cause to stop the planet Earth from dying. The took a wonderful initiative to not use plastic in any way even in their packaging. We have never seen such an initiative in Uttarpara.
