Taking flight is always tiring and boring. We do want to find relaxation and good food with soothing ambience after such hectic schedule. Such worries have come to an end now as Palms Kitchen has opened up in Kolkata, very near to Airport, the exact address reads as – Kolkata Airport, NSCBI Airport, 28, Jessore Rd, Dum Dum, Kolkata - 700052. As soon as you enter through the gate, there's a lovely, finely maintained, neatly trimmed, lush green lawn to welcome you. As you enter the restaurant, it's a calm, peaceful, sober, posh decor, finely lit ambience with large glass panes giving you a view of the beautiful lawn outside. They provide a seating of approx 30-40 people. The menu consists of multi-cuisine dishes. Being a big time foodie and loving to explore new eateries, I recently visited this place with my friends and tried out the following items —

Beverages —

🔸Pineapple Blossom 🔸White Beauty 🔸Electric Blue

Starters —

🔸Lotus Stem Sweet Chilly 🔸Butter Chilly Garlic Water Chestnut 🔸Rosemary Dahi Kebab 🔸Prawn Sweet Chilly Garlic 🔸Grilled fish in Thai Herbs 🔸Cantonese Chilly Chicken 🔸Gondhraj Fish Fry

Main Course —

🔸Stired Fried Vegetables in Sweet Chilly Lemon Sauce 🔸Thai Green Curry (Veg) 🔸Shredded Chicken in Chilly Pepper Sauce 🔸Cottage Cheese Steak, Wilted Spinach Stuffed, Herb Roasted Potatoes, Cherry Tomato and Scallion Sauce. 🔸Rajasthani Laal Maas 🔸Kerala Prawn curry 🔸Steam Rice 🔸Rosemary & Chilly Naan

Dessert —

🔸Mocca Rage 🔸Kesar Firni 🔸Shahi Tukda 🔸Honey Glazed Noodles with Ice Cream

We all founded the respective dishes to be mouth-watering delicious, very different in taste and appreciated the cooking style. The items are priced at very reasonable rates considering both the quality and quantity of food. The staffs were really polite with prompt service. This new and authentic place in Airport area is a must try out if you are looking for a place within the city yet aloof from the hustle-bustle of the city life, a quaint, calm place with fine dining offering Iip-smacking dishes to enjoy with your...

I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience at Palm Kitchen & Bar, an establishment that not only failed to meet the most basic standards of service but also managed to shock with a distressing incident that marred the entire afternoon.

Right from the start, it was evident that the service was lacking in even the most fundamental aspects. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, which set a dismal tone for the evening. However, the nadir of the afternoon was reached when the restaurant supervisor's shouting match with the kitchen staff reverberated loudly into the dining area. This unfortunate incident, characterized by the supervisor's furious outbursts, was not only audible but profoundly unsettling for both diners and staff alike.

The impact of this incident was palpable. A nearby large French group, hitherto enjoying their meal with lively conversation, fell into an uncomfortable silence as the shouting echoed through the restaurant. The incident left an indelible impression of disarray and unprofessionalism. So alarming was the situation that my wife suggested involving law enforcement, fearing that the supervisor's behavior was verging on abusive.

My hope is that this review serves as a cautionary tale for Palms Kitchen & Bar. Such a grievous lapse in service and professionalism cannot be overlooked. It is my sincere wish that the management takes these concerns seriously and undertakes a thorough evaluation of their operations.

Considering the entirety of this unfortunate experience, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Palm Kitchen & Bar to others. I hope my feedback aids the restaurant in recognizing the urgency of addressing these issues for the betterment of their patrons and staff alike.

Check CCTV footage for 30th July'23 afternoon. We were seated...

6 of us visited this place.

It was prior booked. I requested for a seating near the glass but zero efforts were made. We were given the smallest table available. Some worst chairs.

The place is congested.

The bill doesn’t justify the place and the food. Tasted some awful food. Do not trust Swiggy or Zomato dine review.

With the same amount where all I could have gone.

Westing Nori cult globsyn Taj CC2 Hyatt Novotel Afraa

If not anywhere then CC2 orient 🥲🥲

Let’s see what all we ordered- Amritsari tawa fish - worst taste Malai chicken- too good, we repeated the order. Fish finger - felt like it is bought from a local shop- black and dripping oil. Butter garlic prawn - it was edible but nothing wow Peas pulao - worst Fried rice - we requested not to put egg as one of us was allergic still they added. Taste wise okay.. Chicken do pyaza - something good from the worst Garlic Chicken - chicken was stinking bad and too sour.

Good things - Staff were great. They laughed along… Because of our bad experience they offered complementary dishes -

Complementary- Fish tikka - best seller Gulab jamun- thank you for the that.

They have very few options that too they can’t cook.

I have given 2 stars for service it is only for our table manager- nice boy, had a smile on his face. Tried to make up with fish tikka.

But I was very disappointed with the restaurant manager for not managing our seating properly. Giving us such a small table. Making it so congested for us and it was so stuffy inside with a weak AC.

All my friends and family said, only the drinks tasted as it was supposed to taste.

If at all you are ever ordering go with malai chicken and fish tikka - tried and tasted. . . . (If booking from dine out the discount only applies to food and...

We started off with two kinds of mocktails, Gondhoraj Lebur Shorbot and Pineapple-Litchi Juice. The mocktails were unlimited, by the way. There were five types of fritters - potatoes, ladies fingers, bori, brinjal and pointed gourd. To go with these, there were five types of bharta - potato, brinjal, poppy, tomato and fish. And there were so many varieties of salad, including chicken tikka salad, sprout salad and other accompaniments like Dahi Vada and Chaat. There were six types of vegetarian starters - Mochar Chop, Vegetable Chop, Paneer Tikka, Crispy Chilli Veg, Peas Cutlet and Corn Tikki. In the non-vegetarian starters, there was Fish Orly, Chicken Tikka, Meat Chop, Prawn Chop, Egg Devil and Green Chilli Chicken. We tasted all the non-vegetarian starters and tried a little bit of the vegetarian options too. Coming to the Main Course, there was Lachha Paratha, Roti, Naan, Peas Kachori, along with Navratna Korma, Moong Dal, Chenar Rassa, Dum Aloo, Gourd Prawns, Chicken Biryani, Steamed Rice, Basanti Pulao, Mutton Kosha, Pabda Fish and Prawn Malai Curry. In Chinese options, we had Noodles, Veg Manchurian and Kung Pao Chicken. Then there were four types of Chutneys and four types of Papads too! Coming to the best part, the desserts, there were Bengali sweet dishes like Komola Bhog, Imritti, Payesh, Malpua with Rabdi and Mishti Doi. Side by side, there was Butterscotch Sandesh, Moong Dal Halwa, Balushahi, Brownie, Assorted pastries and yes, varieties of ice creams! This buffet cost us Rs 1,407 per person.
