Over priced, over hyped, under delivered and not the best of hygiene maintained.

Went in on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Went washed my hands, pressed the soap dispenser vigorously to clean my dirty hands and I think I returned with a dirtier hands. After a few stares passed across the place to some of the waiters, I was told that a token was needed. I complied and tried to look around for the menu. All I could find was a board mentioning a self-service note. Went to the counter, right beside the wash, and asked for the simplest option- Mini Tiffin. It costed 130rs and my mind voice was like, "it better be some mini tiffin".

One of the cleaning-lady politely told me to take my seat and that she'll serve it to me when ready. In the meanwhile, I was looking around and the ambience was average, space for about 20-30 people. I've seen places in Chennai serving mini-tiffins at half the price having a better ambience. "The mini-tiffin be some mini-tiffin", I murmured. The crowd was be either peaceful grandpas sipping their morning coffee reading newspaper who would gladly exchange a smile or noisy uncles gossiping about some stuff who would spoil the morning peace.

The food arrived and the quantity was noticeably a small portion- I'm not a heavy eater, but I felt it small. On the plate were a small dosa, a cup of mini-sambar-idlis, a scoop of Kesari, a scoop of Pongal and accompanying chutneys and sambar.

To start with the dosa, which is easily never wrong, wasn't as lively. The sambar idlis were great. The Pongal, good. The Kesari, okay. The quantity of sambar and chutney may not be sufficient for all, and to refil I really don't know whom to call as there were no waiters, so I adjusted with the little portion that was served. After the food I was assuming that I would get a query whether I wanted a tea or coffee, none came. I went and enquired and then they asked what I wanted

All said and done, there is 'nothing' premium about the restaurant. The HSB logo branded plates are visibly scratched and stained, the bottom of the glass tumbler was slimy 🤢 (I realised it after I finished drinking the water), the tables aren't food would be a 3/5 but at this pricepoint, even less.

It's a clear skip unless one is dead hungry and there are no other...

Hi today 22/01/2024 i visited this hotel during afternoon for lunch at 1.15 pm. Ordered meals which costs ₹150 and they provide one bowl of rice , sambar in small cup (50 ml), rasam(50 ml ), pulikulambu (50 ml), poriyal (50 gram),Payasam (50 ml),one ultra mini uluntha vadai , one appalam, curd (50 ml)and one kootu. As i mentioned above the quantity of all sides(sambar,rasam,....) were only in mini bowl , i accepted it because as they were big brand so they showed in that. But White rice which was provied by them were not enough to eat with all above items. So i asked for extra rice for curd which was remaining . But they are trying to charge extra 40 rupees for that rice {please note you guys gave that variety of sambar,rasam,.... but White rice was not enough to eat what you have provied in the plate} For that 40 rupees i will eat better curd rice out side. As offerding 150 for a SO called quality veg meals is too high for me, so i rejected that extra rice for 40 rupees and wasted the curd and half pulikulambu you guys are responsible for that. If you have a Doubt please check the camera on 22/01/2024 between 1.15 to 1.30 i wore green t-shirt. This shows your brand is in final stage of death...... all...

My parents and myself have been a big fan of the food made here for the last 10 yrs. But for the last 2 yrs their quality have been deteriorating. In this week I have ordered twice in sarvana bhavan. The onion uthapam I ordered had no onion and the batter was of old quality as it tasted so bad. When contacted they said that's how we make it and they were very rude. Atleast before they were polite. I'm writing this as all branches of saravana bhavan has started this rude behavior. This week,Monday I ordered from ashok nagar branch parathas and it was so small even a baby wouldn't feel satisfied. When contacted they said the same that's how we make it and like k k nagar they cut the call. Customer handling at saravana bhavan( all branches) have started showing rude behavior. I highly recommend start avoiding them as they treat us,the customers not even with basic manners. It's time we start avoiding them and explore other restaurants which provide quality food with proper...

Since I was born and brought up in this same locality... I used to love their taste and cleanliness but now it has gone too low.. I thought this happened since the big hotel was brought down and this place was a temporary one but the nearbuy branches also had no cleanliness.... Went to have evening tiffin... The hand wash was kept above the dust bin.. that dust bin was also in a stale state.... Lot of mosquitoes.... dint have a pleasant seating... Even walls were not worked properly... Just had parotta only one side dish was given that was veg kurma.. Usually they used to give channa plus veg kurma and raitha... Even the parotta was not that good it was just reheated and given.... Please improve it so that we can enjoy our dining there... I am posting the pics too....

This specific outlet is a low mark on the legacy that Saravana Bhavan carries.. this is like above to a fastfood outlet and below to a proper restaurant.. It's NOT a real Saravana Bhavan experience.. better try other restaurants in the locality for the price you spend here.. low in hygiene, better check the items before to leaving the place if you are on Take Away.. don't get surprised if there are anything missing in the pack but billed you.. Interestingly, the contact number in the bill is not active even if you to call on missing items.. and there is NO suggestion or Compliant register maintained..
