Visited the much-hyped Madras Food Walk in Porur and tried pretty much every shop there. While the idea of multiple food options under one roof is great, the execution left quite a bit to be desired.

Podi Idli was decent, nothing extraordinary – felt like a safe choice if you're not feeling adventurous.

Ma Po - didn’t impress at all – lacked flavor and freshness. Not recommended.

The biryani at Kari Virundhu was a big letdown. Tasted like it had been frozen and reheated, nowhere close to fresh or flavorful. Not recommended.

On the brighter side, the tandoori at the last shop was good, and worth a try.

Couple of letdowns that stood out:

Not a single shop offered free drinking water.

All items were priced above ₹100+, which wouldn't be a problem if the quality matched the cost – but sadly, it didn’t.

Final verdict: If you’re okay spending on average food in a trendy setting, it might work for a casual hangout. Otherwise, you’re better off waiting – there’s word of a new Mannar restaurant coming up in the area, and hopefully, it raises the bar.

Madras Food Walk is a spacious food court that combines built-in restaurants and food stalls, offering a wide variety of cuisines – from Burmese and Chinese to traditional Tamil Nadu dishes.

There’s ample parking space for both two-wheelers and cars, with security staff guiding the parking, which makes it very convenient. The entire place is kept neat and clean, and basic facilities like washrooms and handwash zones are well-maintained.

One highlight is the kids’ play zone on the first floor, which works on a recharge card system, making it a family-friendly spot. Pricing and menu depend on the stall you choose, but overall, it’s a good hangout place on this stretch with something...

I once visited this place before it had officially open. It had very few shops and even then I loved the food there. I went once again recently after the crowd has begun and loved it better. The atmosphere was really good. Noisy, but engaging. They had several attractive offers like roll a dice . Stalls with anime merch accessories and other jewellery was also being sold. The first floor has an escape room and an arcade. Very engaging . But parking the vehicle was hard . Especially during weekends. Must visit with kids and teenagers. They don't have proper cups for getting water although can water itself is...
