I went for lunch with my wife to Suprabatham restaurant. During peak hours, it's difficult to get a table for dining. We waited for more than 15 minutes before finally getting a table for two. I ordered two meals and a pepper mushroom fry. The table was not clean, and one of the water glasses had food particles stuck inside it. The jug of water also had dust particles in it. I called the restaurant manager and complained about it. The manager instructed the waiter to change the water and glasses. However, even after the waiter replaced the glass, the new one still had sambar rice stuck to it. I got angry but managed to control myself at the time.
Houseflies were flying around the restaurant, happily jumping from food to the table. Two months ago, I had reported these cleanliness issues to the manager and advised them to keep the restaurant clean by using insect-killing machines. I also suggested installing a glass door at the entrance. The manager had promised to address these concerns, but no improvements had been made.
I even noticed a fly inside a water jug on a nearby table. We waited for 25 minutes for the meals we ordered. I observed that people who came after us received their food within 5 minutes. I called the manager again and asked how long we were supposed to wait. He became defensive and claimed that since I had ordered Chinese food, it would take time. I tried to explain that I had ordered two meals and a pepper mushroom fry, but he wasn’t listening and didn’t want to answer my questions.
The kitchen staff seemed lazy, and even though the manager knew I was a regular customer, it made no difference. After 30 minutes, our meals finally arrived. The waiter was polite and apologized for the delay.
After finishing our meal, I asked the cashier for the owner's contact number. Initially, he refused, but after the manager intervened, the cashier provided it. The manager was unprofessional, arguing with me instead of addressing my concerns. While they can provide decent food quality, service and hygiene are clearly not a priority for their business.
I also noticed a customer at the next table, who had waited 30 minutes for their food, complaining about the poor service. The manager argued with them as well and refused to listen. The restaurant, which only opened two months ago, seems reluctant to provide good service. "I recently ordered takeaway from Suprabatham, valasaravakkam on 2.11.24 and was thoroughly disappointed. Despite the convenient packaging, the food quality was subpar.
Issues:
Cold food: The parcel was not properly insulated, and the food was lukewarm. Expired ingredients: Found expired condiments in the parcel. Incorrect order: Missing items and incorrect quantities. Poor time management: Waited for more than 20 mins to get ordered meal parcel.
