Coromandel Tiffen — Restaurant in Zone 14 Perungudi

This review is for my unfortunate visit to this disastrous restaurant on 02 Apr 2025 @ 5 pm. I have edited it seversl times to use minimum harsh words but by Anger level is sky rocketing.

Its 5 pm & iam Just out of this restaurant. Totally disappointed. Below average food taste. Ordered 1 benne masala Dosa and Rasa Vada for myself and one plain Dosa and veg Biriyani for my colleague.

Open benne masala Dosa was thick like kasmiri blanket. Infact it was like triple oothapan thickness with idly podi spread all over with carrot garnishing. Don't know why they did this. Taste very poor. Sambar was horrible. We also ordered Tea.

Same thing with plain Dosa. Veg Biriyani was Hot & Good

Rasa vada was good but served cold. Tea was excellent

Service is good and atmosphere is ok. I have not given any rating for their food.

Their menu card has all karnataka name dishes but trust me they don't know anything about Karnataka Food or it's taste.

Better they change menu card. Even street food has a million times better taste.

Infact the owner must take all his staff to Bangalore and taste the same items mentioned in their menu card. If they taste that food and compare it with theirs iam sure they will close their pathetic business and join some authentic Karnataka hotel to learn cooking.

Iam surprised how people have rated it as 4.3 Infact it doesn't deserve any rating. So one thing is clear that either the ratings are fake or those who have given high rating have never ever gone to karnataka and tasted authentic Karnataka food.

The chef or the hotel kitchen guys have no idea or knowledge about what they r preparing and serving

My advice Pl don't go with hope of getting authentic Karnataka or Bangalore taste. This is just yet another below average hotel with very low rating.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone around Perungudi looking for a genuine South Indian meal experience. I am looking forward to trying more from their menu on my next visit. I recently had dinner with my family at Coromandel Tiffin on OMR, and it was a delightful experience. We were looking for a place to enjoy authentic South Indian vegetarian cuisine, and this restaurant definitely met our expectations.

I ordered the Mysore Masala Dosa and Karam Dosa, and both dishes were outstanding. The dosas were crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The Mysore Masala Dosa had a nice balance of spicy and tangy flavors, while the Karam Dosa was rich and satisfying without being overwhelming.
