Even though the hotel amenities are okayish including the dining hall and clean rooms, the service of the staff ruins the whole thing. The rooms don’t have telephones so you have to use your mobile phone to call reception and everything. Swiggy delivery partners are not allowed inside and the hotel staff comes to room with the order and gives warning about something every time. The food was okayish, not great.
The hotel is recommended only for SOBER families (old uncles and aunties, grandparents, etc) and people who silently stay, eat, sleep and vacate (like how the hotel management wants you to be). Hotel staff is all or mostly mid-aged men who don’t smile much with no representation of women. They say its a ‘3 Star’ hotel which cracks me up. If you have never been to a 3 Star hotel, then you might agree with them.
It is a hotel with Party and Banquet hall yet they don’t allow smoking in the rooms which is very ironical. If you are a person who smokes, then this place is not for you because the hotel staff will continuously nag and warn you and you will be treated like a thief throughout the stay for which you have paid around Rs. 2,000+. If you want to have a small party or get together with people having drinks, again this is not the place for you because the hotel staff will continuously imply that drinking is also prohibited. They will not let you use the refrigerator to cool beer and give a judgy look (thief vibes). I came with my team from different cities in India for a shoot at Chennai and it is very rare and bizarre to be treated like a thief when we have paid a bomb to the hotel management booking 4 to 5 rooms for almost 5 days.
Overall, comparing to other numerous 3 Star hotels, this hotel is just not up to the mark and you will be wasting your money unless you are a SOBER person or an old person. There are many cheaper OYO Townhouses nearby where none of these issues happen. As a person who has stayed in many Treebo hotels, this just degrades the standards of Treebo. Thanks Treebo for an unhappy, unsatisfactory and a thief-like hotel stay....
Read moreBooked 2 rooms for elder parents(who cannot walk properly) and two small kids, directly calling their reception, specifically requested for early check-in and gave the details of the guests. Paid extra money for early check-in too, No policies were communicated with me, we were cornered in the early morning around 5 am to pay extra money for a kid, (that' fine I paid, but the hotel should have mentioned it beforehand while I gave the kids details while booking ). No towels and toiletries were provided despite paying 6k. Told they will not provide complimentary breakfast which was not mentioned to us while booking the room. They didn't have in house kitchen, which they didn't mentioned while booking. On top of that, they did not allow me to meet my parents and kids saying they don't allow the visitors. A simple question, if I can't meet and assist my elderly parents who could not walk on their own and 2 small kids, will the hotel assist them to their personal needs and will the hotel carry their luggages for them ( hotel didn't have a luggage carrying service)? Who will be responsible if my parents and kids has any emergency situation if I can't be allowed to meet them? since the hotel didn't provide food and they didn't have an in-house kitchen, I had to order food for them, still They need someone to go downstairs to get their food delivered for them, since they cannot walk. But they didn't not allow visitors , so I personally came and was about to take my parents and kids out for dinner, but was stopped by the hotel management, because of their stupid no visitors policies. They immediately sent the qr code for payment but didn't care to send a policy pdf. Atleast they could've tell the policies when I called. Either communicate the policies clearly when calling for booking or tell the customers directly that you will not provide rooms. Management should be ashamed of their inhumane act and poor service. Always aiming for money but never cared about the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Sekaran Hotels, located on OMR, Chennai, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed with the welcoming atmosphere and the well-maintained facilities. The hotel is in a prime location, making it convenient for both business and leisure travelers.
What truly made my stay memorable, however, was the exceptional service provided by (Mr. Venkatesh Prasath - Front Office Executive). Mr. Venkatesh went above and beyond in ensuring my comfort and satisfaction throughout my stay. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care for guest needs stood out. He not only handled all the check-in processes smoothly but also took the time to personally attend to any special requests I had, always with a smile and willingness to help.
Whether it was offering thoughtful suggestions on nearby attractions, or ensuring my room was perfectly prepared, Mr. Venkatesh made my stay feel personalized and truly special. It is rare to encounter such dedication and kindness, and I felt valued as a guest at all times.
