De Kleine Amsterdam — Restaurant in Bali

Do not go here. We arrived and ordered the poffertjes, but they were out of stock. Ofcourse this can happen but it was a disappointment, keep enough ingredients for the day! We came at the end of the morning, long before closing.

About 20 minutes after ordering the waitress came to our table to ask what we had ordered. Our iced coffees then took about 15 minutes to finally be served. They were very watery, it was basically water with coffee taste. The stroopwafels were dry. Out food came 45 minutes after ordering, while we were the only ones there. My girlfriend ordered bitterballen and fries, but they were served without the fries. I ordered the panini, but it was just a grilled cheese! 15 k extra compared to the regular grilled cheese on the menu, and the cheese was still solid like it didn’t go into the toaster. On top of that it is very expensive. Water that wasn’t properly cooled for 10 k. The waitress obviously ashamed of the food she was serving and thus did not look over to us once, we had to call her multiple times to fix our below standard meals.

Avoid this place. Also to the owner, i’ve seen your other reactions to reviews. Instead of making excuses, fix your restaurant! Hire better people, or...

Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with the food and experience. Despite being the only customer (we were a table of 3), our food took close to 1h to arrive. The cafe opens at 8.30am, we arrived around 9am and we had to sit outside because inside they were still cleaning.

The bread was unevenly cut, and from seemingly very cheap quality. Both the Rye and the sourdough had the consistency of toast and tasted almost the same. The bread came without butter.

The poached egg was served with a teaspoon of "sauce hollandaise". It neither tasted like hollandaise nor had the consistency, it was thick and grainy.

The toasted Panini with dutch gouda was in my opinion not with real Dutch gouda. It had the color, consistency and taste of the cheese slices packed in plastic foil. The poffertjes, little pancakes, were very tasty. After telling the staff about the issues with the food they just said "ok". They seemed not surprised about being called out that the cheese might not be real gouda or that the bread is of seemingly low quality.

Overall I can't recommend...

I went to get the advertised Promo Coffee&Croissant for 39k, ended up paying 45k. They told me I can have it take away and they saw that I am with my Motorbike. They gave me a bag with the croissant and the coffee on top, the coffee spilled immediately, instead of making a new one and pack it right, they took ten minutes to put the coffee in an old plastic bag that they found. The coffee was completely cold and spilled and the croissant was hard, I am 100% sure it must have been 1-2 days old. I am soo disappointed with this restaurant. 1Star is because the staff was nice but they really do not know what they are doing.

The croissant was 1- 2 days old it was completely hard and on instagram you confirmed that also. So please don‘t make up...
