UPDATE: I’m super excited to be sharing this review with the world! I had previously written a review after a few months of bad service, long lines, and overall disappointing experiences when visiting Bali Buda Canggu. Although my review was negative the management at Bali Buda reached out to me directly to let me know that my feedback was heard and that they were actively going to fix it.
After 2 months I went back in to see if anything had changed and I am so overjoyed at what a new experience it is. They hired almost all new staff that is very attentive, they take your order, read it back and within minutes they’ve brought your drinks. We waited an additional 10 or so minutes when BOTH of our dishes came out at the same time! No more long waits, no more bad service, and the food was delicious.
Indah was a great waitress, she was quick to refill our waters, asking how our food was and easy to flag down when we wanted to request something. So impressed and so grateful for businesses like this who take accountability and use it to improve. BRAVO GUYS! —-
This is for the Canggu location, I’ve never been to Kerobokan but I live directly across the street from Bali Buda Canggu location. Of all the restaurants I’ve been to in Bali I’ve never seen a more awful work ethic, lack of care for customers, poor service, and long wait times.
We frequent this location because it’s convenient. When I order a bagel downstairs - this has happened twice - it’s takes 25-30 minutes for them to toast it and give me cream cheese. We’re now smart enough to know that it wasn’t a one-time incident and this is just how they work.
On two separate occasions I’ve sat down for lunch and ordered. Waited about 20-25 minutes for food, then asked the waitress where my food is, she goes to kitchen, kitchen staff look blankly, she goes to register to check on order, goes to grab waiter who took our order and then he comes back and says “can you wait longer?” Then I will ask him “you forgot to put it in?” And he replies “yes” with a smile. Both times there was only 1 other table upstairs and downstairs.
I’ve been there multiple times for takeaway, lunch, quick coffee, etc and the staff - all of them - is so unhelpful. There are always 7-9 people in the kitchen, half of them are eating something and the other half are pushing each other and messing around. Wouldn’t be a problem if they also were getting food out but even the tables around us complain about how long it takes. And food will be served 20 minutes apart so 1 person is finished before the other food comes out.
Now that we just go to the counter downstairs it should be easier - nope. I oftentimes have to wait at the counter while 3-5 people behind the counter finally acknowledge me. They’ll look at me, look back at their friends, sit in a circle behind the deli case until I say “can someone help me?” Usually only one guy can run the cash register and the other 2-4 will not help him grab my items so I have to wait while they find the cash register guy somewhere in the restaurant.
I get that Bali Buda is a franchise, and it’s hard to manage staff across the board but I’ve just never ever seen worst service in any restaurant in any country I’ve ever been to. My circle of friends all know that you don’t go to Bali Buda if you want good service or really any service at all.
Sad we don’t have a better restaurant so close to our house but more than happy to travel for better food, better service and better work ethic in...

I had an amazing experience at Bali Buda Kerobokan! The atmosphere is so welcoming and cozy, with a wonderful organic and eco-friendly vibe. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we felt well taken care of throughout our visit.
The food was absolutely delicious! We tried the Earth Bowl, Probiotic Grilled Chicken, and Organic Tempeh, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It’s clear they use high-quality ingredients and put a lot of thought into their dishes.
I also appreciate their commitment to health and sustainability, which really aligns with my values. Bali Buda is a must-visit for anyone looking for healthy, tasty food in Bali. I can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu!
