Batukaru Kopi offers an extraordinary view that adds to the charm of the visit. While the coffee and food are fairly standard, they are acceptable given the remote location of the café, where finding food and beverage suppliers could be challenging. The design of the spot is particularly appealing, with wooden chairs, comfortable backrests, and a captivating rug that enhances the eclectic atmosphere.

However, during my visit, I encountered a couple of issues: the bidet toilet was non-functional, and the Wi-Fi was down, reportedly due to high usage. I’ve been to this café a few times, really wanting to love it, because the space has so much potential. But every time, I leave disappointed.

Basically, people can smoke everywhere, every table, every corner. So unless you’re into having a side of secondhand smoke with your smoothie bowl, it’s kind of impossible to enjoy the food.

Last time I went (10am breakfast with my 9-month-old baby), smoke was literally blowing right into his face. I kindly asked the woman next to me if she could smoke outside, and she replied, “I was here first, it’s your problem.” Lovely, right?

And the staff? Didn’t do much. No support, no care, just a bit of a blank stare.
