Staying at d'Pondok Warung Sebatu Ecolodge and Villa was an absolutely delightful experience, thanks to the wonderful owner Ninik and the exceptional management team led by Ika and Deni. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel immediately at home.
Ninik's dedication to creating a serene and welcoming environment shines through in every aspect of the Ecolodge. It's clear she has poured her heart into making this place special, and it truly is. The attention to detail in the design and maintenance of the rooms adds a touch of luxury and comfort that is unparalleled. Our room was not just a place to stay; it was a retreat that offered peace and relaxation amid the natural beauty surrounding us.
The culinary experience was equally impressive. The food, prepared with fresh, local ingredients, was absolutely delicious. Each meal was a testament to the skill and passion of the kitchen staff. Whether it was traditional Balinese cuisine or international dishes, everything was prepared to perfection, satisfying our taste buds and leaving us looking forward to the next meal.
Ika and Deni, the managers, were always on hand to ensure that our stay was enjoyable and comfortable. Their professionalism and kindness went above and beyond what we expected. Read moreAbsolutely tasteless food and overrated place. We came here as the rates were high (4.9 with 1000+ reviews), but we were highly disappointed. Service was extremely slow. We ordered Nasi goreng, BBQ ribs, fried calamari and red snapper. Shortly after we ordered, we were told that the red snapper was not available. Shortly after that, we were informed that also fried calamari was not available. We replaced the above with an order of Gado-gado.
The short ribs seemed almost store-bought. No BBQ flavour whatsoever, rather just a faint spicy. The Fries were literally tasteless and clearly not even made from potatoes. The vegetables were bland and washed out.
The Gado Gado was one of the most bland dishes ever. Peanut sauce only had a far remembrance to the taste of peanut sauce, the tofu literally tasted like water and the vegetables were also washed out. Completely bland.
The nasi goreng was good, but had a super-spicy sauce next to it which I don't think is a common accompaniment for this dish, although I may be wrong.
Everything considered, our dinner was a great disappointment. I don't understand how this place can...
Read moreAt first I gave this place 5 stars, because the food is absolutely delicious. However, today I got scammed at their breakfast. In the menu, they sell breakfast for IDR 35K, and on the next page they also have a breakfast option with the same name, but without any prices. Obviously I thought this is just an explanation of what is included in the price of the package on the previous page, but this wasnt the case. At the cashier we were charged a whopping IDR 145K per person. This is a 414% price increase to scam tourists. When I asked how this is possible as the menu showed a price of 35K, they just said that ”this is a more stripped down version of the breakfast”. I would be fine with this IF they would transparently and clearly state the price of the more expensive package, but this isnt the case. Bear in mind that you pay 414% more for a glass of juice. That’s it. Because of this reason, avoid this place at all cost...
