Mimpi Manis Restaurant — Restaurant in Pulau Bali

Pretty disappointing… Based on the reviews, I was expecting a great dinner experience, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype.

It started with the so-called prawns. I ordered what I thought were the large prawns pictured on their site, but I was served a few glazed shrimp 🦐. Not what I expected, but still edible.

Craving curry, I ordered the beef red curry. What I received was a plate of dry, seasoned beef on rice 🍚. Apparently, it was “Dry Curry”—something I’d never encountered and wasn’t mentioned on the menu.

Still in the mood for curry, I went for the Massaman curry. It’s not my favorite, but I was hoping it would satisfy my craving. What arrived was far from a traditional Massaman curry—a soupy brown dish with small, low-quality meat pieces and a few potato pieces. Most of it was left on the table.

I was charged for both dishes and had to ask for the returned dish to be taken off the bill.

The place itself is nice, and the service was friendly, but the food just didn’t match up 🤷‍♂️.

I had the stake which was suppose to be between 200g- 250g according to the menu. But they must have left some of my stake in the kitchen as you can see by the photos. I order medium, but some were well done, some almost rare. Was it even the same piece of meat they serve I wondered? The mash was alright but way too little. Incredibly disappointed with the food considering the price which was 266 800 IDR for a stake and a large beer. Making it easily the most expensive meal I've had and also the worst here in Bali.

As for service. Yes the girls are nice and all smiles but, at the same time serve me a chipped glass? And a water glass at that? I hadn't ordered water, and they served me no water? Why not a nice beer glass? I could even them behind the bar?

Either way I'm extremely disappointed with the food, the service and the experience as a whole. They also have a sign at the bar where you pay that says you get a "5% discount if you leave a 5 star review on Google maps". Complete and total scam of a place that has no shame in doing shady business. Wouldn't come back even if they paid me. 0/5 experience. I pray I don't get...

I recently visited Mimpi Manis Restaurant, and my experience was truly amazing! As soon as I stepped inside, a warm and friendly atmosphere greeted me. The distinctive decoration and traditional feel made me feel as if I was at home.

The waiter named Shakunta at this restaurant deserves a thumbs up. The staff are very professional and always ready to help without seeming intrusive. Shakunta patiently explained the menu and gave me appropriate recommendations.

The prices offered are also very affordable for the quality of food and service provided. Mimpi Manis Restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal with family or friends.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience authentic culinary delights. I will definitely...
