I am Vegan Babe — Restaurant in Bali

With sadness I'm editing my 5 star review which I wrote two months ago. You'll find my original below. Since then many things have changed to the worse. You don't get the free taster of cake or nachos anymore, neither do you get the welcome lime juice . There's still free water, but you have to ask for it now.

The beautiful upstairs place was closed every time I came back and only groups seemed to be allowed upstairs. It's a shame because it's a lot more beautiful upstairs with a pretty view and now everyone is cramped in downstairs.

While I used to love their smoothies and smoothie bowls for their size and taste, they've taken the size aspect away. Bowls got smaller and smaller (a lot less fresh fruit, less granola, less smoothie) and got slightly more expensive (from 60-65 k to 70k all of them). Also they went from like 8 options down to only 4. Their smoothies which used to come in big glasses with a giant scoop even on top of the glass now come in smaller glasses with barely any "extra" on top. The prize stayed the same though.

I've seen others with their pancake stacks a couple months back and really fancied one last time. When my stack arrived I was shocked how much smaller it got. The diameter was smaller, the height of each pancake was less (not as fluffy anymore?) And it came with less fruit.

All In all very sad to see how my formerly favorite place now seems to live off the good reputation and starts cutting out what I loved it for.

I'm giving 2 stars as the food is still very delicious and staff is so friendly and attentive. But prize / value isn't working for me anymore. Won't be coming back.

They have vegan cinnamon rolls!!! And they're out of this world delicious!

We came here twice for their smoothie bowls and they are the best on the island. They are huge, satisfying and delicious! The smoothies are equally as big just come without the topping. But they're definitely more than just a drink with your meal and they're really pretty.

We came here also for their Complicated Quesadillas (8 pieces feeds two average hungry, or one starving person) and thought it could use some more filling, especially more cheese. But the flavors were great.

Their "eggs" Benedict though hit the spot! So so so good! Flavorful, satisfying, delicious.

We still have to come back as we want to try their fish & chips and their club sandwich. We're sure we won't get disappointed.

Their service is one of the best in Bali (and if you know Bali you know that service is always quite good and friendly)! I recently had the pleasure of dining at I am Vegan Bae in Canggu, Bali, and I must say, the experience exceeded all expectations. As a group of six, with a mix of vegan/vegetarian and non-vegan diners, everyone found something to love on the menu. Personally, I indulged in a delightful feast that included a heavenly buttermilk waffle, a vibrant rainbow omlette, and some delicious shared nachos that were a definite highlight. What impressed me most was that despite being vegan, the dishes were bursting with flavor and creativity, truly setting this establishment apart.

The attention to detail in the presentation of each dish was exceptional, and it was evident that the chefs at I am Vegan Bae take great pride in their craft. The flavors were so robust and satisfying that even the non-vegan members of our group were thoroughly impressed. It was heartening to see everyone, including my meat-eating wife, thoroughly enjoying their meals and genuinely appreciating the plant-based culinary delights on offer.

One standout for me was the watermelon refresher, a refreshing and perfectly balanced drink that complemented my meal beautifully. Additionally, the smoothie I sampled was a blend of fresh, vibrant ingredients that left me feeling energized and nourished. The quality of the ingredients used was apparent in every bite and sip, showcasing the kitchen's commitment to using fresh, locally sourced produce.

The ambiance of the restaurant was charming and inviting, with a laid-back atmosphere that made for a comfortable dining experience. The staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive impression I had of the establishment. Words just cannot describe how much I love this place. I was here the first fime in February (and tried to eat here as often as possible) but honestly one of the reasons why I came back to Bali is this place. There‘s just so much on the menu I wanted to try! To be honest - I can‘t give one recommendation... every cake is just perfect, especially the red velvet is so moist.. the chocolate cake is so chocolatey - not only the sponge is chocolate - also the layers in between is chocolate coating. But there‘s also that amazing cinnamon roll which is beyond compare. When it comes to main dishes I also don‘t even know where to begin - the nachos are really loaded (never seen nachos that loaded in any other place!), I also enjoyed the Club Sandwich which is a huge portion and - as said in the menu - serves 2 people. Also try the Hawaiian burger, and if you can come by more often, try something with the vegan chicken and the macho meat... their seasoning and battering - wow! No, not the end of my review yet, sorry! :) They also have a whole breakfast menu which includes the best waffles you will ever have tasted as well as crazy real vegan egg...
