Warning! The electric fans in this restaurant are hazardous and are extremely dangerous!

In this resteraunt the staff leaves black markers on the tables for guests to scrible on the walls.

Doing this, I stood on a chair to write on the wall. Because the fan was mooving at high speed and it was dark at night I was unaware of the danger.

The metal blades moving at high velocity sliced my finger open. If I was not wearing a ring on my index finger I am sure my finger would have been sliced off.

These high speed electric fans made of metal are not caged or placed out of the way of guests who are wanting to ingage with the atmosphere and are not given a proper warning. The fans look almost invisible in the dark moving at very high speed. Guests need to be warned about the hazards before being invited to write on the walls.

For example: Hazard tape or proper cages for the fans should be installed. All guests should be warned about the fans before seating. Markers should be kept behind the counter and only given under supervision untill the fans are enclosed in a protective cage, replaced or removed.

I am also uncomfortable with the restaurant because when the accident took place the staff lied to me because this is not the first accident that has taken place. If the fans are not replaced or removed this accident will not be the last. I can only warn you.

It is only by a stroke of luck I did not end up in the hospital that night, or worse.

The pizza has been very delicious at La Baracca's and I really like the location in Ubud. This however does not negate that the infrastructure in this building is a public health hazard.

Please be warned! Your health and safety...

Walked past this restaurant on our first visit to canggu and so it was high on our list to try on our trip this time around. We were disappointed from start to finish. Fair enough it was Friday, so super busy night but it felt like people were being crammed in left right and centre, which took away from the ambiance that the low lighting and candle on each table had tried to create. It was super loud and felt crammed. When we sat down nobody gave us any menus and we assumed they would come back with some, but after watching other people being seated and given them we realised we had been forgotten about and so we asked the waiter. We had the breaded mozzarella and bruschetta to start, the mozzarella was nice but the bruschetta bread slightly burnt. We were still optimistic for our main dishes to arrive and initially we weren’t too fussed about how long it seemed we had waited given how busy it was. However then we saw other diners who came in after us get their meals, we were starting to think we had been forgotten about again. Then the front of house asked us if we would like to see the dessert menu and we informed her we hadn’t had our main course 😅. Both our pasta dishes were ok but just that. We both felt that they didn’t match all the amazing reviews we had seen and that we have ate better Italian food in canggu. We really wanted to like this place...

Not the best dining experience. The meatballs in the spaghetti meatballs were so soft they were actually mushy - when I bit into it I thought I was eating something raw! Perhaps too much egg in the mixture? They also looked grey and did not taste much of meat, which is concerning. Thankfully they took the initiative to take the pasta off the bill, but in the food business, quality control is everything, so this is an important note to make.

The tuna tartare salad was horrifying - it looked dull and there was no care for presentation at all, the fish was just shredded and scattered all over the greens. I didn't eat any of the fish for fear of food poisoning. Had been excited to try the seafood pasta but they didn't have it and only told me after I had ordered, so was quite disappointed. My ginger aglio e olio (this combo is suspect) was average, but there was no garnish, so it came as a pile of beige. Would have appreciated some parsley and chili flakes on top.

The server made a mistake and realized that she didn't charge us for the two coconuts we ordered, so we were chased down as we were leaving the restaurant and had to go through another payment...

La Baracca is located just next to a rice paddy, I think it's a very attractive spot, we walked from our homestay at Echo Beach, and it was truly a very Interesting experience walking to La Baracca, small road next to rice paddy, the road was decorated by 'umbul-umbul' / pennant that made from coconut or palm leaves. Furnished with rustic and industrial style, it feels peculiar cause it is very contrast with the green and gold color coming from surround La Baracca. But as the sun start setting the environment of the restaurant starts to merge. Serving Italian, and they have this welcome warm bread topped with I think it was a carrot spread....and a dip of olive oil and balsamic oil. We ordered seafood fettuccine, gnocchi bolognese, and lagsane al forno. And as for dessert we had Panna Cotta and Tiramisu.... all the dishes they were fantastic, our pastas cost around Rp.70k++ to Rp.80k++ while our dessert cost around Rp.30-40k. I really recommended you to visit La Baracca if you are around Canggu. And last thing the waitress and the manager they were very kind and helpful.... I was very happy to spend my last dinner in Canggu at La Baracca... ;)

This place came highly recommended for being allergy conscious. When our order was being taken, they asked for allergies and I started dairy and peanut. I ordered a burger for my 7 year old specifically asking for the beef patty with vegan cheese because he has a dairy allergy. Our dinner came and my 7 year old was excited to dive into his burger. A few bites in, his tongue and mouth were itching. I flagged the server and asked to confirm ingredients. They left to ask the kitchen. As we waited, my 7 year old’s lips started swelling and his cheeks were breaking out in rashes. The server came back and confirmed there was cheese in the beef patty. They apologized profusely but the damage was already done. We left immediately so I could medicate my 7 year old at home. He was not only still hungry but in pain. My advice to the restaurant is to actually take allergies seriously as some can be life threatening. Thankfully my 7 year old wasn’t anaphylactic and knew to stop or his whole body would have broken out in hives. Please train the staff to actually understand the seriousness of allergies and not treat it as a mindless routine.

A friend recommended this place. Now I highly recommend you go. Best to book and reserve a table as they get very busy. Down stairs non smoking up stairs open . A few scooter spaces at the front. On arrival you'll be given a complimentary starter. Few slices of fresh bread, olive oil balsamic dip & a broccoli in breadcrumbs thing (I forgot the name) was so fresh and delicious. Ordered a mocktail and hubby a white wine. Carbonara for me and yellow fin tuna pasta for hubby. Cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Shared a dessert of tiramisu that came in a coffee pourer. Fun. Ordered the bill and was asked if we would like our complimentary lemoncello shots 1st? Um, yes please! The staff were friendly and attentive. Quick to serve and quick to clear the dishes once finished. They also at being seated asked if we had any allergies. The atmosphere was cozy and lit by candlelight. The menu range was extensive. Vegan options. Gluten free pasta & pizza options as well. Home made pastas and pizza bases were listed on certain dishes as well. Portion sizes were generous and enough for us both. Something for everyone at this place.
