Being a vegetarian in love with Indian cuisine, discovering Mokshu was a revelation. Finally, a place where I could indulge in all the classic dishes my friends and family rave about, but in their vegetarian version! From exquisite curry options to the ever-popular butter chicken and the various vindaloos, Mokshu truly caters to all taste preferences. Each dish felt like a fusion of tradition and innovation, capturing the essence of India's rich culinary heritage with a modern twist.
In the past 48 hours, I've found myself returning to Mokshu three times, eager to explore their diverse menu. The sheer variety of offerings promises a delightful experience with every visit. What fascinated me most were the soups ā the pumpkin soup, mushroom soup, and creamy vegetable soup. Each spoonful was a burst of flavors, tenderly hinting at the chef's mastery. If I had to pick a favorite, the pumpkin soup stood out as a masterpiece, unrivaled in its creamy texture and depth of taste.
Moving on to the mains, the haha noodles stole the spotlight with their perfect blend of seasonings and just the right amount of heat. It's rare to find a dish that balances flavors with such finesse, making each bite a journey of savory delights. The fusion of Chinese and Indian cuisine at Mokshu is nothing short of a game-changer. The chilly chicken paired with Chinese fried rice showcased an explosion of flavors that exceeded all expectations. It's an experience that lingers on the palate, leaving a lasting impression.
For vegetarians or veggie-lovers alike, Mokshu is a culinary haven that demands a visit. The innovative approach to vegetarian cooking, combined with traditional Indian flavors, is a harmonious blend that truly stands out. From the rich spices to the expertly crafted dishes, every aspect of dining at Mokshu reflects a commitment to excellence. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ate there with my partner and we usually don't write complaints but this experience disappointed us a lot so we want to share...
The waiter didn't speak good English so he didn't understand our questions about the menu or requests, and even the manager didn't seem to be able to communicate very well...
Several items on the menu were not available, but they told us this just quite a while after we ordered them.
The main issue why I am writing this complaint though is that the dhal makhani (which in the end I chose as other things were not available) was very blend... no flavours at all, it didn't even feel like an Indian dish but just a rather average creamy lentils stew... it was very heavy (probably too much cream and butter) and although we hate wasting food, we couldn't eat more than two spoonfuls. We informed the waiter about this and he didn't seem to care, he just laughed and he didn't tell the manager. So we asked to speak with the manager but this didn't happen so in the end we had to go to the counter and let her know we were not pleased at all with the curry and for what we paid, it was quite a waste... I asked if we could not be charged for it as we barely touched it but she simply discounted a 5%, which is actually just the hidden service tax (so it was 17.000 IDR when the dish costed 75.000 IDR). They didn't even apologize or seem to be concerned about our feedback.
Very disappointing. We will not go back or...
