Edit: I have returned and enjoyed more main meals and iced and hot coffee without any illness. 🥰🙏
I love this vegan restaurant, however every time I eat here I get sick, so be warned! I came back here so many times as I love this place, despite always ending up sick, in the hopes that the next time would be different. The meals I ate were cooked followed by an ice coffee, latte, frappe or juice. On occasion when I didn't drink any juice I was still sick, so maybe it was coming from the drinks. I assume some kind of containmenation has happened with tap water. There was an incident where I pulled a large alive ant out of my mouth when I took a sip of the fresh juice. It was quite traumatising for me, but more so painted a bad picture of the kitchen hygiene. I hope in time the food standard will improve so I can come here regularly as that would be very nice! 😁 The restaurant is a comfortable cool temperature, with comfy seats and a beautiful team. The menu has many options in all categories, drinks, desserts, indonesian and western food etc. The food is cheap, but the price correlates with the quality of the food. As a vegan, I have never found a vegan banoffee pie so trying this one, albeit, far from the original, was still such a treat! I would however recommend a light sprinkle of fine coffee on the top instead of sweet chocolate powder that added too much sweetness to the dish. The coconut soft serve was also quite a treat at an affordable price, and the coconut flavour wasn't too overpowering. I once ordered some coconut ice cream with donuts and when they didn't have the donut I wanted, they gifted me a different donut which was...
Read moreWe stayed in the 2-bedroom villa with the tiny pool (that's more for chilling than swimming).
The place is actually pretty awesome, I won't lie, but my friend took the better part of the property -- she took the room on the lower floor, which had a bathroom that made sense.
Don't be confused, let me explain --
My other friend and I stayed on the upper floor. Nice balcony. Damn cool room. Good AC. Everything very nice. But the damn bathroom... could have been used as a torture chamber during the Nazi period. Don't get me wrong -- It's well thought out. But it's not designed for human use. It's SO BLOODY HOT IN THERE -- because it has ZERO VENTILATION -- also, the toilet seat is placed in the absolute corner, and for someone with decently long legs, like I have, it's an absolute torture to try and take a dump there. The sweat pours trickle down from the neck all the way to the bottom. So it's the bathroom of the first floor that's the only real problem. I mean, you can try taking a shower, but by the time you exit the bathroom, you need a shower again. Get what I mean?
And throughout the night, there's some damn GECKO hidden in some part of the room that keeps screaming every 30 minutes. And the sound it makes echoes through the entire room. It seems to be screaming -- 'GECKO! GECKO! GECKO!'.
Anyway. Love the little fake pool outside. We spent an amazing few hours in it, getting drunk, sharing stories from our lives.
Honestly speaking, great place. Just fix the damn torture-chamber bathroom.
PS -- best...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to try for so long but never had the chance to. This place may not be seemingly anything from outside but when you head up to their second floor and see their menu, you will be in vegan heaven. The menu is super wide range but the only disappointing part is, no gluten free dishes. I tried the katsu curry and thoroughly impressed with the flavor, the serving size and even the ambiance of the place. It’s one of the rare cafes that is quiet, good wifi and conducive for working. Price is also very fair and not too expensive. Would go back to try more especially since nondairy coffee has no additional charges (except for almond and oat)
