Kana Brasserie — Restaurant in Bandar Lampung

I am very conflicted about this place, here is why If I could I would put a 3.5 stars but more like at 3.7 so there you go 4 stars.

Upon Arrival I have to say I was very impressed with the place, almost does not fell like I am in Lampung anymore, which is a great thing, the ambiance of the restaurant is great cozy with some sort french music in the background, so I can see they really looked into the ambiance of the place.

Ordered some mocktails which were amazing, greatly crafted my wife had something with coffee in there it was the creamiest I tasted, and my mocktail very fruity, mango berry thingy simply delicious, the service was great as well clearly well trained staff.

But then time passes the food takes a while to arrive, which for me is not a big deal but we noticed it was long, at some point we got some welcome bread, which were either half cooked or just got wet in the process this is a bit sad because I could see its homemade, and they served it with margarine, with some herb on top. Too bad I prefer butter but I understand the choice because the bread was a bit bland. But I mean I can go pass that, then for the mains, we got a Pizza which was absolutely stellar, for me one of the best Pizza I ate in Lampung so far and I tried quite a lot of them, so really great job.

Then the Black Angus steak, which we asked medium rare, came first time after a looooooong waiting time too cooked which is a great way to ruin a nice piece of meat, but it was pointed out to us by the service so I salute the honesty because that I do not see everyday, most of the time service would send it and wait to see if a complain arise so this is a mark of truely great service in my opinion, and then they sent it back to the kitchen, which again took a while before the second one came out, with the center of the steak still cold, I don't mind I love steak tartare and rare steak too. But still not medium rare as requested I did not complain because I didn't want the steak to be gone for another 20 minutes, the other issue is the side dishes, the mashed potato came with the first steak was cold when it came to the table. And this is the most expensive dish on the menu, soo I have to say I was a bit disappointed, but not mad, the quality of the meat was nice, the mash potato tasted great, the salad was a salad. Small note provide proper steak knife that would make a whole lot of difference.

After this steak fiasco, the kitchen and service still sent us a free pasta dish as a recovery service, which I could not eat because I was full, but tried it at home and this was one of the best pasta aglio olio I ever had, with these fried baby crabs that's actually super yummy !

And to finish I ordered a Tiramisu Cake, which was really dry, they clearly torched it on the outside because I could see the dark bits but its making it super dry, and aside of the powder chocolate on top I am still not sure why they would call it tiramisu.

So overall, I really want to say this is a great place, but that needs some fine tuning especially on the kitchen side, and one thing for sure is that I am coming back because I want to try the rest of the menu, because the pizza and the pasta showed me that these guys are capable of cooking great food, so yes my review is not only compliments, but I believe either the kitchen team was not on their A game on that day, or maybe they have something on their mind, and these things happens so really I am not mad, and I believe there is great potential for this place.

So chin up Kana Brasserie Team, Bar Team is great, Service Team is great, the Ambiance is great, and the kitchen is needing some improvement for half of what I ate and the other half was great. Bad service, so i was there with my friends, all my friends ordered food already, but i decided not to order yet since I'm still confused in choosing what to order, then i wanted to order some food but there was no waitress, and when i saw one, so i asked her if i could order, she said that she is no longer in charge and told me to find another waitress to order, but there was no other waitress in the room except for her, so i waited, and then a waitress came by, and i raised my hand and told him i want to order mac and cheese, and he said "wait let me ask" i was confused on what he meant by that, so then i waited and i don't think he wrote down my order, then it turns out i'm right, he didn't write down my order, the design of the cafe was quite interesting but the service...

Great place, great price, great ambiance 💖 Such a pleasure to have this kind of restaurant around Bandar Lampung 👍

But the minuses are When i came, some ingredients had run out, such as kiwi, mint leaves and the most crucial is chili sauce, how could a restaurant run out of chili sauce 😅 but fortunately they tricked it with gave me tomate sauce mixed with chili flakes, not bad but yeah not the way it should be...

The parking attendant gave a high rate for us to parked there, if it's legal and there's a ticket from the local goverment, it's really ok for me. But the fact that they gave the rate by themsleves made me a little uncomfortable..

Overall, i will comeback again with friends, family and relatives to Kana...
