During our culinary adventure in Bandung, we visited another legendary restaurant, the Mandarin Restaurant, known for its exceptional Chinese cuisine.
The Hotplate Water Spinach with Beef is their signature dish, and it’s clear why. Nearly every table had ordered this favorite. The taste is incredibly delicious, with the water spinach perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. The seafood components, especially the squid, are plentiful and tender. The portion size is generous, easily serving 3-4 people. The thick, brown sauce is savory and rich. This dish is a must-try!
We also ordered their Pork Steak, featuring well-fried pork slices topped with a delectable butter sauce and served with fries. To warm us up in Bandung's cool weather, we chose the Crab Asparagus Soup. This soup is brimming with crab meat, filling the entire bowl. I loved their food so much that I wished I could try more from their exciting menu.

Read moreSpots Mandarin Restaurant while passing by Kebon Kawung street, and since I gonna go back to Jakarta by train and this restaurant located near train station, I decided to give it a try. As the banner said, this restaurant still servings since 1972, and come in top 3 while i'm googling "Chinese Food Bandung". I visited in lunch time and decided to order 3 dishes which are Sapi Cah Kailan (Sautéed Beef and Gai lan), Bistik Ayam Saus Mentega (Chinese Style Chicken Steak with Margarine Sauce) and Udang Gulung Ham (Shrimp and Ham Roll). In my opinion, Chinese Food in Bandung kinda soft and bland in seasoning if you guys compared it with Chinese Food in Jakarta (I loved punch in the seasoning forgive me that love MSG too much 😬), so Mandarin Restaurant isn't really my style. But this restaurant foods and ambiance will totally bring back memories of childhood. Overall, for Mandarin Restaurant, i'm gonna rate them 4 out of 5. For more info about foods, kindly visit...

We also ordered deep fried fish which actually come with the gravy and it tasted very similar back home. So is a ok for me. We had fried mixed vege and also fried egg for a vegetarian. Overall the restaurant is super nostalgic and makes me feel like I've been transported back to the 50s or 60s.. you know, my parent's era.. suggest everyone to come here when you're in bandung to try out this very traditional yet tasty dishes which van hardly...
