Food is pretty good, best fuyunghai I've ever tasted. Spicy Yahun with pork and a sprinkle of cheese is a must eat but it costs a whopping Rp 60.000 (including tax). How's that for a bowl of noodle (no addtional sides like bakso or pangsit btw)? If you meet the old male owner, you might even spot him removing loads of noodles already portioned out by his workers for one bowl to additional bowls. Extra cheese here about 3cmx1cm, costs 13.000 several years ago, while AT THE SAME TIME, other outlets sell them for 7.000. Not the most honest practices for a business. It is surprising why there are still quite a few customers going there. But I guarantee that paying the bill will be shocking for unsuspecting customers. Most are likely new customers brought in by reviews around the net, which didn't emphasize on the pricing. The menu has no prices indicated for obvious reasons. You only get to know the prices when the bill is shoved down your throat. While the spicy yahun asin with pork and cheese is not found anywhere else, and it is good, you can find much better yamien at a fraction of the price. Like mie lezat manis gang luna with rica2...
Read moreThis Bakmi Resto used to be one of the top spots for noodle lovers, attracting fans from Jakarta who raved about its delicious and authentic flavors. However, since its rise in popularity, things have changed—and not necessarily for the better. While the prices have increased significantly, the quality of the food has unfortunately taken a slight downhill turn.
During my recent visit, I ordered the Yahoon Manis, one of my go-to dishes featuring sweet rice noodles. Sadly, the noodles were too dry and lacked the usual tenderness and flavorful balance that I had come to expect. It felt like they’d either overcooked or left the noodles sitting too long, which was disappointing, especially given the new, higher price point.
While the restaurant still has potential, with its loyal customer base and flavorful history, the rising prices don’t match the declining quality. With the new pricing, you’d expect the dishes to maintain the same high standards, but it feels like they’ve lost a bit of their original charm. Hopefully, they’ll address these issues and restore the quality that once made them a favorite among...
Read moreIt was out first night in bandung and my wife and I wanted to try the local food. We came across this place thanks to wikitravel, and since it was on the way to our next destination, we decided to give this a try.
We were immediately served tea once we were seated. We then ordered the special sets (the one with everything in it I think), both sweet and savoury flavours (you can choose either one from the menu: the sweet has back sauce added it in while the latter I think will be cooked as is. Though note that the menu has no English translation). Ambience-wise, it's like an old school coffee shop so don't expect creature comforts! Taste-wise, it's pretty good, and has generous portions. Cost-wise, it is however, more on the steep side, about 80 IDR, but for anyone new to Indonesia or bandung, I would...
