One of my favorite place for Batagor, - bakso tahu goreng or fried filled tofu, and siomay, or shiu mai in Bahasa Indonesia, located in Bandung. Probably this one is legendary. I usually have them takeaway, stopping by before heading back to Jakarta. Whenever I have time, I try to eat here as we have so many choices for food and beverages, especially the traditional ones. We usually order batagor, siomay, mie ayam or chicken noodle, es cendol, pempek, bakso tahu kuah - batagor with clear soup, cireng, and more. They also have durian ice, mochi, ice cream, pempek or Indonesian fish cakes, and more You can have more space on the second floor. But the access is only the stairs, so it won't be manageable for those using wheelchairs There are many other food and beverages vendors on the spot as well you can buy and enjoy or take away. They also have store selling traditional food as well as souvenirs In terms of services, sometimes all is well, sometimes some staff are not that friendly, It's CASH only as well. I hope they will allow other method of payment soon. There's an ATM on the spot from Danamon Bank, which can be used for others with additional charge.

This is my first time coming here to try batagor which my friends think is delicious. Parking location is limited to 4-5 cars. So if you want to eat here, you have to park a bit far. The dining area is located on the 2nd floor, while the 1st floor is used for shopping for Bandung souvenirs and take-away. Batagor Campur Goreng One portion contains two pieces, fried somay and fried tofu meatballs covered with peanut sauce. The delicious part in my opinion lies in the savory peanut sauce. The texture of the somay is a bit chewy. I didn't find the fish taste and nothing special with the somay or batagor. Batagor Campur Kuah In contrast to Batagor Goreng, the presentation of this batagor is using gravy. The gravy uses chicken stock and a sprinkling of green onions and the aroma is quite fragrant. The contents of 1 portion are the same as Batagor Campur Goreng, which is two pieces. Just the same, I don't find the taste that makes this batagor special. For the price, each portion of Batagor Campur Goreng and Batagor Campur Kuah is set at IDR 37,000 per portion (February 2022). I think it's a bit expensive. If I may suggest, the price of Batagor Kingsley should be no more than Rp. 30,000 for a portion of two pieces.

As you guys maybe know, Batagor & Siomay Kingsley is famous place in Bandung to get Batagor (Baso Tahu Goreng / Deep Fried Meatball Tofu) and Siomay (Deep Fried Dumpling). People usually buy Batagor & Siomay Kingsley to bring back home (usually Jakarta people who visited Bandung like me 😬). I tried their infamous Batagor and Siomay, and I must said, I definitely in love 🥰 (although the pricing is more on the expensive side 😅), crunchy Batagor and Siomay with sweet peanut sauce is definitely rock! Beside that, I also ordered Es Krim Durian (Durian Ice Cream) and Es Cendol Elizabeth - Es Cendol Original (Original Cendol Ice) from other tenants that located in the same place with Batagor & Siomay Kingsley. Both taste pretty ok, and nice to be enjoyed with Batagor and Siomay. For Batagor & Siomay Kingsley, i'm gonna rate them 5 out of 5. For both Es Durian and Es Cendol, i'm gonna rate them 3 out of 5. Beli kesini langsung antri untuk takeaway, lumayan antri karena bertepatan dengan liburan sekolah jadi banyak pengunjung. Yang saya tahu ada 2 jenis batagor yang bisa kita bawa pulang, yaitu yang matang dan 1/2 matang. Waktu itu saya pesan yang 1/2 matang karena kata pelayan nya kalau pilih matang tunggu 30 menit lebih lama. Menimbang waktu yang lama dan saya membawa keponakan yang masih balita, maka saya putuskan membeli yang 1/2 matang agar cepat. Oh iya saat saya memesan takeaway saya cukup kaget dengan sistem pembayarannya, ternyata harus cash/tunai!. Wah ini masalah buat saya yang selama pandemi kemarin menghindari membawa uang cash/tunai. Alhasil saya yang ingin membeli banyak jadi cuma bisa beli 1 kotak batagor yang isi 10 biji (harga sekitar 185k), dan saya cuma bisa beli 1 kotak karena memang di dompet adanya segitu hahaha. Pelayannya menawarkan ada ATM di dekat situ tapi saya beneran sudah ogah harus bolak-balik seperti itu, jadi saya hanya beli 1 kotak yang isi 10 hehe. Baiknya ada informasi atau pelayan khusus yang menginstruksikan bahwa pembayaran harus cash/tunai jadi pengunjung yang hendak antri membeli di himbau ke ATM dulu jika dirasa ingin membeli banyak namun kurang uang tunai nya, karena jujur harganya tidak murah sehingga jika ingin membeli banyak untuk oleh-oleh keluarga bagi pengunjung luar kota ini sangatlah merepotkan. Apakah saya sebaiknya yang harus segera ke ATM setelah saya sudah di depan kasir dan kekurangan uang saat membayar? Saya rasa tidak, mengutamakan kenyamanan pembeli adalah no.1 Ini adalah pengalaman pertama saya di batagor kingsley, mungkin di lain waktu bisa tidak seperti ini. Per hari ini saya menulis saya belum mencicipi batagornya karena baru sampai di kota asal saya, nanti insyaallah akan saya update ulang untuk penilaian rasa dari batagor ini. Oh iya di lantai 2 adalah tempat makannya jika ingin langsung makan ditempat. Juga ada layanan pemesanan via ojek online (sungguh andai saya tahu mending pesen pakai ini hahaha) Ini adalah pengalaman pribadi saya, pengalaman saya belum tentu sama dengan yang lainnya. Terima kasih UPDATE : Akhirnya saya bisa mencoba batagornya, hmm rasa 6.5/10 menurut saya. Di dalam kotak take away saya ada batagor tahu dan kulit siomay (namanya mungkin bukan ini tapi tampilannya dimata saya seperti ini), saya sajikan dengan menggorengnya mengingat saya memesan yang 1/2 matang, di dalam kotak juga ada bumbu kecap dan kacang serta kaffir lime 3 biji. Saya tidak tahu tapi kok tidak ada sambalnya ya punya saya? Karena ini pertama kali makan batagor kingsley jadi saya kurang tahu biasanya ada sambal atau tidak di dalam kotaknya. Kalau ada sambal nya saya bisa kasih nilai 7/10. Mungkin sebaiknya saya coba makan ditempat, kadang beberapa makanan lebih enak dimakan ditempatnya daripada dibawa pulang, apalagi jauh di luar kota.

This is the first time I buy this batagor. That why I delay my review until I reached home and cooked the batagor. So far..it is right that the taste is delicious, but I think it is not comparable with the price. Per piece cost 14500 IDR. I can get this batagor with the taste like this in Colombo Market with price only 3000 IDR. May be because the name that Bandung is famous with Batagor that make it so expensive. Cause when I see the place it is not like an expensive restaurant, just like common store. They only receipt cash only. The good thing is that they have halal logo in their box. And mostly they prepare half raw Batagor because most of the buyer take the batagor for gifts. So we can fry it when we are home. If u want eat there you must wait them to fry. It is a little bit long queue. Have a nice try..

The batagor is made of fish cake combine with tofu. They have another variation only fish cake that call siomay. It is quite delicious. Usually we eat using the peanut sauce, but my husband say a little spicy (luckily we can ask to separate it). They have other menus too. The service a little disappointed, while from beginning we must wait in the 1st floor to dine in the 2nd floor and must reserve to the security which is not friendly at all. They sell other foods and snacks in the 1st floor and the batagor Kingsley just for take away. The waiter in the 2nd floor also quite long taking order, maybe because they are less in number. The place quite clean and not too big.
