Toko You is one of Bandung's legendary culinary spots, which has been around since 1947. It is located near Borromeus Hospital, and there is no sign in front of it. In fact, at first we thought it was just an ordinary house. The wooden gate is the hallmark of Toko You's entrance.
Upon entering, the place turned out to be quite spacious and cool. The front section has a display case filled with cakes and old-fashioned bread. No wonder, as the shop originally only sold bread and cheese to meet the snack needs of the Dutch. Gradually, other menu items were added, and it became famous for its homemade noodles.
We ordered a bowl of Mie Yamin mixed with kwetiau and meatballs. The taste is similar to other Mie Yamin dishes. Nothing special, but it’s not bad either.
I also ordered a large glass of Siroop Tjampolay Pisang Susu, which has a very old-fashioned taste, fitting for this place.

Read moreToko You is a legendary F&B space that has been established since 1947. It's a fully outdoor dining area that has several food stalls, such as fried snack, noodle and rice dishes, batagor, vegetarian foods, burger, steak, sushi, ramen, donburi, as well as the beverages. Since this is an outdoor space, so smoking is allowed here.
Talking about their foods, the price is high. I don't know what makes the price high. Perhaps because of its legendary? 😁 Not only dining in area, Toko You also have small shop that sells snacks, beverages, and ice cream.
Here are what I tried :
Mie Kering Asin Pangsit (IDR 40,000) A simple mild savory taste of straight and long noodles served with steamed chicken, green onions, along with dumplings in a clear broth. If you want a "stronger" taste, then you should try mie kering manis (the sweet one). I tried my sister's mie kering manis, and it tastes good!
Pangsit Campur (IDR 60,000) A big plate for sharing. This menu is unique since this is the steamed dumplings that ares stirred-fried with soy sauce, vegetables, and bean sprouts. Tastes good 😋...

Really enjoy the ambience here and obviously the food. It has so many choices in terms of Indonesian food, traditional Sundanese, and many many more, including favorite Chinese food. I do enjoy my chicken noodles Indonesian way, or Mie Yamin, the sweet one, complete with tofu meatball and chicken dumplings. They also have combro, tahu gejrot, pisang and tape (fermented cassava) or peuyeum goreng, bacang, tempe goreng, pangsit goreng and more!
They are famous for Nasi Rawon panggang as well, which I will try on the next occasion.
Parking is a bit tricky as there’s no designated area and it’s also a crowded place.
Restaurant area is ♿️ friendly but there are short stairs here and there. Toilet is available and clean. High chair for kids are also available to use.
The price of the food is affordable as well
