New place in town, we tried their breakfast this morning.
The place is instagramable, especially the backyard. Lot of seatings and it can accomodate groups. Nice place for hangout with friends and family.
Breakfast has western and Indonesian. We tried western, delapan padi breakfast set, homemade quiche and tuna omelette.
Delapan padi set was expected to be the signature dish but it come out a bit dissapointing. Mushroom and the scrambled egg was way too little, sausage is standard and all of these items taste very bland. The salad is dressed with oil and I think a bit of lemon, but the lettuce are not crispy enough (looks like an overnight one from fridge).
Homemade quiche is also similarly very bland in taste and apart from the small size, the skin is also too thick.
Last one was the tuna omelette, and same it was bland and the tune looks like directly taken from the can. The egg is too well done and I could get any creamyness from it. Fries looks like overcooked due to too high oil temperature (almost burned).
The good side is they provide free flow tea and coffee (self service) for breakfast.
There is a buffet, but it is not ready yet until next week Monday. Hopefully their mix rice buffet is much better than the breakfast.
Service is a bit slow but I suspect due to it is still opening. Need to fire up the crews.
The most dissapointing was the mojito. It does not like other mojitos in most cafe in city. The glass is maybe only half height of normal mojito glass but the price is same (how come?) and the lemon they use is not the good quality one (light yellow color, seems more like the one used for soto)
Pricing is interesting. Well, it is still opening so we got 30% discount on the food and further discount if you pay using OVO or Gopay.
Hope to see more improvement...
Read moreAt first I was quite skeptical with the place. The place was literally a big house being transformed into a cozy looking cafe. While I won't say a lot when it comes its architectural value, the place gave off the sense of space and it doesn't feel as cramped as I thought it would be.
The food is tasty and the portion gives you a good run for the money. We are talking about spending 100k for 200g of beef steak, grilled perfectly to your liking, and a perfect sauce to accomodate the type of steak you're having. The accompanying drink is good and they're not stingy with the amount you'll get. Juice, mocktails, fancy coffee, or if you're going for the plain course, have some english breakfast, which I personally recommend because the spice is quite powerful and you may need something plain to wash them off.
The pasta is kind of ordinary, not bland nor weird, but definitely not what you want to prioritize. The soup, on the other hand, you have to try, buy 1 for 3 so you can stuff your stomach with everything else. I'm not big on ice cream too, but my sister definitely enjoyed her share.
On final note, there's a separate cake shop in Delapan Padi going by the name Sucre. The cakes seem interesting, but some have rum in it. If you're not a fan of alcoholic meals, like me, you can skip it.
Overall 4/5, definitely will come again for dates. Reserve the table, they...
Read moreToday, my family and I enjoyed a delightful lunch at Delapan Padi, with the bill totaling Rp. 368,100 (under the name Siska). To our surprise, as we were leaving, we spotted a prominent BRI banner offering a generous 30% discount for transactions exceeding Rp. 250,000 using their debit card.
Curious about the promotion, we inquired with the cashier. Unfortunately, we were informed that since we hadn't explicitly mentioned our use of the BRI debit card during the transaction, the discount couldn't be applied retroactively. This revelation left us somewhat bewildered, as in our past fine dining experiences, cashiers routinely ensure customers are aware of available promotions.
While I had intended to praise our lunch, the cashier's oversight and lack of information markedly altered our experience. It's disheartening to think that a single lapse in communication could overshadow an otherwise enjoyable meal.
To fellow customers, please take note of promotions at Delapan Padi, as it appears the cashier may not consistently inform customers of available discounts. An unfortunate conclusion to an otherwise...
