I came to this place at friday night around 8 pm. So crowded with people from the young to the old, its like this place has no criteria about age.
The ambience is not really cozy. But its kinda fun if you come with your group because it has live music(i think its everyday) and you and your group can sing along with the band's song. But never expect to have a private conversation because you'll be seated in a long table and it has really small space from you and another guests. And everyone can smoke everywhere so it must be very disturbing for you who can bear with smoke.
For the food, for me its fine. Not really special for my tounge. And i think the need more variance of the Surabi menu. I didnt try the Bakso Kampung. I love Bakso, but for me, its just not a right place to eat Bakso.
I try the sweet menu and the savoury menu of the Surabi. I try 'Surabi Pelangi', 'Surabi Buah Pelangi', and 'Surabi Sosis'.
Surabi Pelangi is Surabi with variance of fla, chocolate, strawberry, and durian. The fla is not oversweet, and the taste is fine. But if you like the fla to be milky, its not recommended because i cant taste any milk there. The surabi surely can combine with the fla.
Surabi Buah Pelangi. At first i think it will come with some fruits on top of the surabi. But it turns out to be Surabi with variance of fruit jam. I think its pineapple and strawberry. The jam has sweet and sour taste.
For the savoury, i tried Surabi Sosis. It served with mayonaise on top...
Read moreSuper crowded at times. The surabi (Sundanese style pancake) is good, and the price is cheap as well. But the place is kinda cramped and humid, especially in second floor. Also, smoke everywhere!
For ordering, you first come to the area beside cashier and take small papers containing surabi/bakso/drinks menu and a stylo, find a table, sit in, check the menus you want to order, come back to the area beside cashier, hand over the papers and they'll give you a number (printed in a smaller paper inside a plastic zipper bag), come back to the seating area, and wait for the waiter to give you the food based on the number (they'll shout out the numbers, so pay attention). Oh and there's live music sometimes.
In summary, if you can stand the messiness, the humidity, the smoke, the wait, the music that will get in the way of your conversation; the good cheap surabi is your reward. But if you're lucky, maybe you come in a decent time where it's not as nerve-wrecking as my experience....
Read moreI went there at around 4 pm where it started to get crowded. It is a very nice pace for hanging out with friends or lover, but if you expect a quiet place, it's not the place you are looking for at around that time. The place is nicely designed, mainly built of wood. Seats are close to each other, especially those in the first and second floor. I havent taken a look at the third floor. The surabi is quite big in size. It's enough for me to get only one. The cheapest surabi comes for 4,5k. Though the price of food is affordable, prices of drink are rather costly. It takes you 4k for a plain tea. There are toilets and also a place to pray for those who...
