Local friend said that this place is very famous and has been around for over 50years. So we definitely had to give it a try. First of all the open coal grill outside gave the place a nice atmosphere, inside is decorated with all the famous people that has eaten there before. Apparently 6 of the 7 presidents of Indonesia has eaten there.
The kebabs looked awesome when they arrived. With bits of meat and juicy fat. The taste was underwhelming, mutton was soft but not as tasty as the Chinese street food beef kebabs with cumin. The only thing that was really good was the leaf wrapped rice cakes. Those were super delicious. They also don’t serve any form of carbonated drink. So opted for fresh orange juice, which was not fresh as they advertised. Mutton curry was full of bones so you hardly get any meat.
Apparently the place was not cheap either. We also saw a couple of cockroaches running along the walls behind the picture frames. I’m sure there is a whole family of them since the whole place is covered in frames.
Unless you local, this place I wouldn’t recommend to tourists. Just because the place has been around for more than 50 years does not mean the food is up to started in...

Read moreOverral the place was decent, the food was pretty good, price wise its medium to high.
Full review. The atmosphere is ok, smoke ussualy fills the room from the hot plate, the tables is only cleaned using a wet rag so its not really clean, the floors are a bit dirty, and there was cockroaches (one even climed up to my head)
The food is pretty good taste wise, but a bit small on the portion imo. For the sate or "satay" Menu that is served on a hot plate it came in cold with only the heat from the hot plate heating it. For foreigners or people that are not fammiliar, when they bring you a plate of otak-otak and the food on the table, dont eat it because it will cost you unless you have ordered it.
The service was quite slow bringing both the drinks and food, but they...
