This was my second visit to this placeāthe first was for a friendās wedding, and the most recent, on March 28, was for a Ramadan iftar gathering. The venue is beautiful, with a strong Jogja cultural ambiance. The temple-inspired design and outdoor area create a lush and comfortable atmosphere. However, several aspects made the experience less enjoyable, and need improvement.
Iftar Gathering Experience The weather was unfavorable, with heavy rain throughout the day. Kudos to the security team for proactively lending umbrellas to guestsāI truly appreciated this initiative. However, upon entering, we were met by a staff member wearing a blue hijab who insisted we register first, despite us being hungry and partially drenched. Thankfully, a male staff member intervened, simply asking for our RSVP confirmation, allowing us to proceed to our seats.
Unfortunately, our assigned table was in a small pavilion near the restroom, positioned at the edge. The table and chairs were wet from the rain, and the pavilion was far from the buffet area, making food access difficult. When we asked the staff member in the blue hijab for an alternative table and the reason for our placement, her response was disappointing and unprofessional: "Because your group is small." This felt discriminatoryādoes this mean smaller groups are not prioritized for reservations?
In the end, with iftar approaching, I took what food I could and settled in. To my relief, the staff in the pavilion (not the woman in the blue hijab) later apologized for the inconvenience. While she had initially stated that staff couldnāt assist with serving food to pavilion guests, other staff members kindly offered to help, which I greatly appreciated. I told them exactly what I wanted so they wouldnāt need to bring everything, and their hospitality helped ease my earlier disappointment.
Suggestions for Improvement: As someone with over five years of experience in hospitality, Iād like to offer the following suggestions:
Reservation System Enhancement Consider implementing a 50% deposit option to streamline reservations. Eliminate the requirement for guests to register and settle the bill before entering the dining area, as this can disrupt the reservation flow and create unnecessary chaos.
Table Numbering Efficiency If tables are already numbered, staff should be familiar with the layout to avoid unnecessary escorting and confusion. On-ground staff must memorize table placements to enhance service efficiency.
Staff Training To improve organizing, Candi Tirto should enhance staff responsiveness and initiative through better training. Strengthening communication and coordination will prevent mismanagement. This eventually will create/impact to a seamless experience.
I hope this constructive feedback is taken positively for future improvements, as I truly want to see my rating change from 3 to 5 stars. One undeniable strength of this place is the consistently delicious food and drinks, which never disappoint. This alone helps compensate for the service shortcomings and highlights the great potential this place has.
Would I return and recommend this place? Yes. I love your foods, I definitely will come back. Does the customer service need improvement? Absolutely. If the service quality matches the great food, Candi Tirto could gain a competitive advantage over other...

Had drinks and a definite recommend, the durian creme bruleĆØ, it was awesomely fantastic!!!! Will definitely order it again. The restaurant itself is beautiful and serene. They also have a few accomodation units for short term holiday rentals. We got showed a couple of the rooms...which were ok. Definitely coming back to give the food here a try.
Came back for the food.....it is good. The servers are trained and knowledgeable on the dishes. Had the ribeye....was a tad bit thin for my liking but tastewise and temperature....on point! The durian creme brulee hit the spot...
