Jian Mian Greenland — Restaurant in Batam City

This is a review of Jian Mian during my visit on January 14th 2022.

Entering the shop (around 9-10 am). There's no people around as the store it self just opened around 9 am.

The waiter is very friendly and assigned me to the table near the window. I ordered a pho and thai tea.

It took around... Perhaps 10-15 minutes(?) Until the food is served. When served I see that the pho bowl itself seems pretty standard in portion. The broth is not as hot as I expected, though the meat itself is already cooked.

Not like the one you usually see in video where the beef is raw(?)/slightly cooked(?) But still reddish, yet after they put it into the broth the beef will be cooked as the broth is really hot. Perhaps just to make sure people is not put off by the meat still not cooked.

The beef is really tender, just take a bite and it would melt in your mouth. The broth is refreshing as the lime give it a bit of sourness. The noodle is a bit too soft to my liking. But as I only tried pho once in other place, I can't really give a good impression to this one.

As for the thai tea... I think it's the usual kind that usually been sold in Indonesia, just a tad bit sweet than the usual. But as you drink the thai tea and drink the broth of the pho. It gives a bit of balance to the tea itself.

As for the portion of the pho, i would say it wouldn't really make you full. But pretty satisfied.

As for the price... I can't say it's justified as it's kinda pricy. But if you're looking for a beef pho or something that feels refreshing(?), You can try it. I would recommend eating this during early morning...

The pho here was amazing — the broth managed to be light yet full of flavor at the same time. The beef slices could’ve been thinner to give that perfect bite, but it was still very enjoyable overall.

I also tried some dim sum: the salted egg pao and wonton were solid, while the hakau was just okay for me since the skin felt a bit too thick.

Service was pleasant and the staff were attentive. The place itself was clean and spacious, with even the toilets surprisingly roomy and well-maintained.

Not my first time eating at 见面, I used to be a patron at their original stall! So I thought, how about giving this new place a chance~ And… it’s quite good! The quality is well maintained, the flavour profile is very good, I ordered the dry chili pan mee and I love it very much! ❤️

The order comes fairly fast, and since i eat during peak time, it saved my hungry self!

The atmosphere was nice, woody accent and I like it, the lighting is good too, perfect if you want to take...
