We intentionally made a stop in Pekalongan during our train journey to Semarang just to dine at RM Bung Kombor Kepiting. Known for their specialty dish, "kepiting gemes," the restaurant came highly recommended in various reviews. Despite our last-minute decision to visit, we were fortunate enough to find that kepiting gemes was still available, although the crab with roe (kepiting telur) we initially wanted had already sold out. Alongside the kepiting gemes, we ordered serimping goreng mentega and cah kangkung bawang putih. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, especially when paired with warm white rice. The kepiting gemes itself was outstanding—the crab meat was tender, plentiful, and full of flavor. Great crab, Kepiting Gemes. And it surely made me "gemes" as I can't get the large crabs. However, affordable price with tasty seafood. Sweet but not spicy.

They also have a nice Sriping Goreng Mentega, that tended to sweet. It was just ok from me as I expected more salty - as general goreng mentega.
