Let me take you on a journey to Ugly Woo Kitchen, a delightful haven tucked away in the heart of Sanur, Bali. As a self-proclaimed food enthusiast and avid supporter of vegan and vegetarian cuisine, stumbling upon this gem was like discovering a treasure trove of culinary delights.
Upon entering Ugly Woo Kitchen, you're immediately enveloped in an ambiance that's both charming and inviting. The warm, earthy tones of the decor combined with the soft glow of lanterns create an atmosphere that feels like a cozy embrace. It's the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the food – and oh, what a feast awaits you! Ugly Woo Kitchen specializes in Chinese cuisine, and they do it exceptionally well. As a vegan, I was thrilled to discover an extensive menu boasting an array of plant-based options that rival their meat counterparts in both flavor and satisfaction.
From the moment you peruse the menu, you'll find yourself torn between tantalizing choices. Will it be the savory vegetable noodle soup, bursting with the rich umami flavors of homemade broth and fresh vegetables? Or perhaps the crispy tofu dumplings, delicately folded and served with a tangy dipping sauce that dances on your taste buds?
But let's not forget about the star of the show – the staff. It's rare to find a team so genuinely passionate about their craft, but at Ugly Woo Kitchen, it's evident in every interaction. From the moment you're greeted at the door to the last bite of your meal, the staff goes above and beyond to ensure that your experience is nothing short of extraordinary.
And let's not forget about the recent grand opening – a celebration of their commitment to quality and excellence. The energy was palpable, and it's clear that Ugly Woo Kitchen is poised to become a beloved fixture in the Sanur dining scene for years to come.
In conclusion, if you find yourself in Bali craving authentic Chinese cuisine with a vegan or vegetarian twist, look no further than Ugly Woo Kitchen. Trust me, it's a culinary experience you won't...
Read moreI was excited to try out this new restaurant, but unfortunately, it didn't quite meet my expectations. While we ordered a variety of dishes, the main focus was the dumplings. The pork pan-fried dumpling was quite disappointing, as it was very chewy and tasted like it was made with skin rather than proper meat. The kung pao chicken was also too sour for my taste. On the bright side, the chicken dumplings that we ordered were quite delicious and much better than the pork. The string beans with oyster sauce was another dish that stood out for me. Overall, I'm not sure if I'll be returning soon, as there are better...

My kids asked what way they were headed and the census was they were all going in all directions. No light no stop just Indonesia driving courtesy! If there weren't so many other restaurants in town I'd come back often. Prices were cool too....
