Warung Ayu — Restaurant in Denpasar Selatan

We found this warung from a friend and decided to try it when we went shopping at pande putri.

It's a nice place with outdoor sitting. Clean although there are a couple of dogs roaming around. The annoying thing is the flies!

There are 2 ways to order either choose from the ready made food on display or the alarm carte menu boards.

Since it was late (3pm!), we decided to order from ala carte board - fried gurame and soto ayam. The soto ayam is only ok but the fried gurame is very nice. My husband totally cleaned it 😂 and he also said they made a good latte.

There are also many choices for desserts - cakes, puddings, Indonesian treats, etc.

All the staff are friendly and kind. The staff who took our order informed us that for the gurame, it will take about 20 minutes or so and if we want to go ahead ordering it. That is really good because at other places we just ended up wondering where is the food because the staff never informed us how long...

Yesterday I went to this place, and I saw a fly inside the "Indonesian snacks" I think it's called "Jasuke." I told the waitress that there was a fly inside of it. But her reaction was like nothing happened. So, I began to question myself, does this thing usually happen, seeing a fly on meals?

Today I went to this place again with the hope that I would not see any flies. But, surprise I saw it again. Maybe, the fly also perched on my meal before I saw the fly and picked it to go.

A good side of this place is they have tasty food but poor quality and service. Need improvement! Please note this if you would like to see your company in 5 years ahead from now.

I went there twice and both times they forgot to make my drink order. Last time I was here, there weren't anyone else in the restaurant (see photo) but they still forgot and took forever to make a simple coconut drink in a glass. How hard is it to cut open a coconut and pour in a glass? My food was almost finished by the time I received the drink. My boyfriend also ordered simple ice tea and they forgot and took so long to make it (the resto was not busy as well at that time). If you can't cater to drink orders then don't offer it.
