PREKSU DERESAN — Restaurant in Depok

I've visited this restaurant since the first opening. In the beginning, I think the order system is quite good for the place (first come, first serve). But since last month I visited this restaurant again, the order system is the worst I've ever experienced. They changed the system to buffet (prasmanan), so there will be a long queue (especially in lunch / dinner time). They don't quickly refill the fried chicken / another stuff, so you have to wait again (and your queue taken by another people). And what makes it worst, the service during pray time is the slower (or maybe I can say stop) than the usual. When I bring my friends at almost the pray time (maghrib), the queue is quite long because there is no fried chicken, so I wait for it with my friends patiently. When the pray time is over, the long quiet queues become aggressive to take the fried chicken. After waiting patiently, I finally arrive to take the food, but there is no fried chicken left. It was almost pray time (Isya), so the service stopped again. My friends and I finally decided to go to another restaurant, because we think we don't deserve this kind of treatment. We feel like we're wasting our time for 1 hour just waiting for the food (we have another work after that). I don't have any problem with them practice their own beliefs, but in the hospitality world you also have to take care of your guest. Don't you need to think of other people (and my friends) that they can't pray because of waiting for the fried chicken? I think the first system is much better than this new...

Kemarin makan ayam geprek di sini, dateng sekitar jam 10 pagi pas jam resto mulai buka. Sayangnya ternyata resto masih belum siap terima pesanan, jadi sempat menunggu sebentar.

Tempat makannya ini luas banget. Jarak antar meja juga cukup jauh, jadi kalau pas ramai gak bakal berdesak-desakan. Kebetulan waktu dateng ke sini masih sepi. Tersedia tempat cuci tangan juga di depan pintu masuk.

Sebenarnya ini pertama kalinya saya dine in di Preksu, sebelumnya cuma order online dan terakhir kali pesan sudah bertahun-tahun yang lalu hehe. Saya baru tau kalau sistem pesan makanan di sini semi-prasmanan: pembeli bisa ambil nasi, lauk, minum, dan topping sendiri, lalu antri untuk geprek ayam live dan bayar di kasir. Cukup unik menurut saya. Sayangnya waktu saya pesan, nasinya diambilkan karena nasi ambil sendiri masih belum siap.

Saya pesan nasi ayam geprek cabe 1 dan topping saus keju. Rasa nasi ayamnya oke, ayamnya krispi sekali, cabe 1 ternyata buat saya sudah sangat pedas hehe. Oh ya, di sini geprek ayamnya bisa pakai cabe 1-10 dan free. Tehnya bisa refill sendiri. Saus kejunya bentuk pasta dan enak, keliatannya sedikit tapi sebenarnya cukup banyak. Saus kejunya ada perpaduan manis-asin, cukup oke dipadukan sama ayam gepreknya.

Menurut saya kekurangannya ada di staff itu sendiri. Staffnya hanya ada 3 orang, 1 orang geprek ayam live untuk pembeli dine in, 1 orang mengurus orderan online, dan 1 orang di bagian kasir sekaligus mengurus minuman. Menurut saya ini bikin pembeli menunggu sangat lama, bahkan untuk saya yang kemarin beli pas masih sepi. Saya rasa perlu ada penambahan staff supaya pesanan bisa selesai lebih cepat.

Untuk harganya buat saya sudah tidak semurah dulu lagi. Mungkin karena harga bahan pokok semakin naik seiring waktu. Preksu termasuk mahal jika dibandingkan dengan tempat makan lain yang menawarkan ayam geprek dengan harga...

Too crowded, a little expensive (compared to others). The chili--way too hot, and the it is not flavorful. If you want better (a lot tastier) Ayam Geprek, it's going to be Geprek Kansas at FIB UGM (behind FIB UGM's Mushola).

Edit: I got sick after eating here (read first, it was just myself). I am kinda allergic to chicken products, but I ordered Cheesy Squid Geprek, which shouldn't contain enough chicken produce to cause my allergic reaction. The place and food was okay I think, but I will not recommend anyone allergic to anything in the menu. Deep fried stuffs reuse the oil...
