Sate Ratu is a sate specialty restaurant located in Condongcatur Jogjakarta. Around the restaurant, many other coffee shop and resto. They have a wide parking space enough for 5-6 cars more maybe. Not much can be said for the design, just like a typical clean warung, and they had post of signature from ppl around 73 country visiting them (73 negara). It's quiet crowded, and they have two separates area, smoking and non smoking, around the restaurant many green plants, so it's kinda cool (well the area is cool in the beginning) They serve mainly chicken satay in a different style. Sate Merah (25k) consist of 5 thick chicken seasoned with spicy and sweet sauce and grilled. Chicken is soft, and tender, sauce is okay, but if you are not a fan of sweet savory dish, this might not for you. The sweetness dominate the spiciness, so it's not too spicy, and I can't withstand hot chilli. I dont know what lilit basah (25k) is, it's like minced chicken shape with sweet salty yellow sauce and cucumber, I don't quiet like it, rather order the satay, since lilit basah portion are small, but its worth to try. We order the broth as well, the waitress said it could be very drying so she recommend order a broth to go with the satay (5k), which is fine, nothing special but a nice complimentary as it is could be very dry eating rice with satay only. Food came out slow, specially the satay, as they seems to wait for other people to order so they can grill all together. Overall,my experience here is okay, nothing special though, would I miss the satay? Not really, I might come back if I ran out of option to eat in Jogja, but that might...
Read moreHonest review: 3Os Over hype, overrated, overprice (compare to the portion and satay meat portion which has a lot big skin rather than its meat)
To be honest actually we put really high expectations for this satay because we already ate a lot of good satay with rich flavor and juicy meat.
Cons: as a guess / customer we feel we should follow their tight rules for eating, a lot of rules spoken by staff from entrance, played tv video rules when we are in waiting list and also in the table Satay has a flavour yes but really for this price we already got no skin / meat only satay.. IDR 30K for 5 pieces without rice on this portion is big no for me because a lot of skin portion in the middle of satay Rice already reviewed by other, dry and small portion Drink, they have How for IDR 24k, its good but again its pricey for the size Satay Merah is only available at time we arrived not compatible with kids because has spicines
the big notes is: the most uncomfortable things is the staff tell us to review even before / we just sat down or arrived on the table ... 😂 please its not really good things after we just waiting for waiting list and again tell the rules and tell us how to review... at least ask us to review when food arrived / we finished eating.
Maybe this is the reason why the resto viral because almost all staff asked to review their foods
Pros: staff "looks professional" with their complete gear HT etc satay has good flavoured until its inner
I wish Sate Ratu can improve in the future. Dont sell the hype but sell the quality...

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sate Ratu Jogjakarta, and I must say, it was an extraordinary culinary experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm ambiance and friendly staff.
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a pleasant get-together with friends and family (PS: long waiting time so it’s better not come on an empty stomach)
The quality and flavors of the sate were truly exceptional. The meats were perfectly cooked and tender, while the rich marinades and aromatic spices infused each skewer with an explosion of taste.
The highlights were the famous Sate Merah (red chicken skewers). The chicken sate was succulent and juicy, with the perfect balance of sweetness, spiciness, and the smokiness.
I must commend the staff at Sate Ratu Jogjakarta for their exceptional service. Not only were they knowledgeable about the menu, but they also went out of their way to ensure that the order came ASAP.
