Yogyakarta memang terkenal dengan berbagai macam kuliner yang tersebar disetiap kawasan. Salah satu makanan yang paling terkenal  adalah siomay kang Cepot atau biasanya seringkali dijadikan sebagai jajanan murah meriah. Tempatnya pun mudah ditemukan yaitu berada di Jl. Kaliurang No.46, Tambakan, Sinduharjo, Kec Ngaglik, Kota Yogyakarta. Selain strategis, biasanya rumah makan ini buka jam 09.00-22.00. Waktu yang begitu lama tentu akan membuat pecinta kuliner memiliki banyak kesempatan untuk dapat mencoba makanan yang satu ini. Dari ukuran tempat memang tidak terlalu luas, tetapi dibalik itu sebenarnya banyak sekali kelebihan yang tersimpan didalamnya. Berikut beberapa contoh ciri khas siomay kang Cepot yang menjadi daya tarik para pembeli.

Pilihan Siomay yang Bermacam-macam

Bukan karena konsep bangunannya yang mewah, tetapi dimana Anda akan diberikan kebebasan untuk mengambil berbagai macam siomay dengan harga yang sangat terjangkau. Setiap siomay juga memiliki harga yang bermacam-macam tergantung dari jenis yang diambil dan ukuran siomay itu sendiri. Dari setiap menunya, rumah makan siomay kang Cepot juga menyajikan makanan pokok berkelas yang berkualitas seperti siomay primium dari tengiri, biasanya ukurannya paling besar dan mahal. Adapun siomay ikan biasa dan siomay ayam. Untuk tambahan lainnya seperti telur, kol gulung, kentang, tahu, dan pare juga memiliki rasa yang nikmat dan mengenyangkan. Cara ambil pun cukup unik karena ketika Anda selesai mengambil pilihan yang dipesan nanti akan dibawa ke pelayanan agar dipotong-potong. Biasanya pelayan akan memberikan pertanyaan “ingin direbus atau digoreng”. Setelah itu bumbu pun akan diberikan secara terpisah agar pembeli bisa menikmati dengan keinginannya baik diguyurkan secara langsung atau dicelupkan. Saya sudah merasakan 2 kali makan di tempat. Sebagai makanan hasil inkulturasi budaya Tiongkok dengan budaya Indonesia sejak ratusan tahun lalu, Siomay di Indonesia berkembang menjadi jajanan yang bervariasi, mulai dari siomay super dengan kadar daging yang tinggi, siomay lumayan dengan kadar daging agak tinggi, sampai siomay abal-abal yang sama sekali tanpa daging, atau sekarang lebih dikenal sebagai cilok (aci dicolok).

Di sini, Siomay Kang Cepot tetap menyajikan berbagai jenis siomay yang memang menggunakan sentuhan daging. Hanya saja kadar dagingnya yang berbeda. Untuk Siomay yang kadar daging tinggi, dinamai Siomay Super dengan harga yang jauh berbeda dengan jenis lainnya. Biasanya Siomay super ini diletakkan di sebelah paling kanan (sudut pandang pembeli).

Maka, kalau mau sekadar kenyang, Pembeli bisa mengambili siomay yang berada di sebelah kiri, ditambah kentang. Prinsip di sini sebenarnya pembeli bebas mau mengambil siomay mana saja. setelah itu, tinggal bilang mau di goreng atau tidak. Jika tidak digoreng, maka langsung ke bagian bumbu untuk di tuangi.

Nah, sekarang kita bahas bumbunya. Bumbu siomay Kang Cepot, seperti pada umumnya, menggunakan bumbu kacang. Di sini menawarkan dua pilihan: bumbu biasa atau bumbu pedas. Pembeli harus hati-hati dalam memilih pedas, karena sebanyak dua kali saya rasakan amat pedas. jadi lebih baik, bisa minta bumbu pedas secara sedikit saja, atau terpisah.

untuk rasa, sebenarnya peran bumbu kacang bisa dibilang yang paling utama, karena siomay tidak begitu dominan rasa dagingnya. Akan tetapi Kang Cepot sepertinya masih belum menaruh perhatian lebih pada kualitas rasa bumbu kacangnya. Bumbu kacang memang gurih. Akan tetapi, rasa masih kurang mantab. Sebagai pembanding, mungkin bisa mencicipi Siomay Kang Aep di Nglempong Sari. Meski demikian, rasa kenyang selalu menyelimuti perut saya selama 2 kali mampir makan di Kang Cepot ini. Terimakasih...

The condiments are quite complete, including tofu, rolled cabbage, boiled egg, and bitter melon.

In my opinion, the taste and quality of the siomay aren't as good as they used to be. The peanut sauce isn't as special either.

Curiosity brought us here. In my honest opinion, this place a bit overrated. Above all type of somay. Somay tenggiri murni was the one which had normal taste of somay. Other than contains a 85% flour. Made it very hard to chew. Peanut sauce was very watery and tasteless. You have to put more sweet soy sauce even only sweet soy sauce can be your only spice. What's good in here for spicy lovers. When we asked spicy, they did make it spicy. Advise: If you want to try this, just order number 1.

This place is almost always crowded. If you're still avoiding crowds during this pandemic, better takeaway your orders.
