We have just got married at Wilson's Retreat and we cannot recommend it highly enough. We first fell in love with it during a brief visit last year, and were thrilled when they agreed to host our unconventional wedding.
From start to finish, dealing with Kus and Yudha has been a pleasure. During the planning of our wedding (we are Australia-based), they were super responsive over email and WhatsApp. No question we asked was too silly, and no request we made was too large or difficult. They bent over backwards to make sure we had everything just how we wanted it.
The staff at Wilson's are like a big, happy family - we had such a warm welcome and everyone was as excited as we were about our big day. When our friends and family started to arrive, the staff helped them with everything from early check-in to arranging horse carts to collect them at the harbour.
The rooms here are beautiful, clean and spacious with big open-air bathrooms and showers that look up to the bright blue skies. We stayed in the one-bedroom villa with an amazing private pool surrounded by tropical flowers. Bright red dragonflies visited our pool in the morning too!
The food is really standout - we particularly recommend the Nasi Goreng and Beef Rendang which we had several times. Breakfast was always lovely with several Indonesian and western options to choose from. As a vegetarian, I always felt looked after and was always given options to replace meat in some of the dishes.
Our wedding was the absolute highlight of our trip. Despite not being a dedicated wedding venue, the team pulled off the most amazing day and it went perfectly - we could not have asked for better. We had a wonderful dinner, live music and dancing, and every little detail had been addressed perfectly. Our friends and family spoke so highly of the food, the venue, the staff, and we all just had the absolute best time. The staff got involved with some of the after party and were so thrilled to have been included - they had the most amazing positive energy and we were so sad when our week at Wilson's came to an end.
To anyone considering a stay here - you will undoubtedly have the most incredible time. To Kus, Yudha, Eppy and the rest of the Wilson's team - thank you so much, and...
Read moreBEST HOTEL EVER ! The hotel is located in the north of Gili T, away from the animation of the harbour and the south. For those who wish to combine the quiet of Gili Air (or Meno) and the animation, restaurants and activities availables in Gili Trawangan, this place is made for you ! You can reach the hotel by horse drawn carriage (150K Rps) or you can walk like us to save money and spare horses (about 35-40 min from the harbour under a blazing sun).
The place is very quiet, next to the beach which is beautiful and clean up everyday. Very good spot for snorkeling and see fishes, turtles and corals.
Staff was very nice and wharhearted ! the waiter Wira (? I don't remember his name) and the others were welcoming and very kind to us ! Thanks so much to Yudha the manager for making sure we have a good stay here ! He was very welcoming and give us some advices to enjoy the island.
We booked the Muri suite. The room was very quiet and away from the restaurant and the swimming pool. It was a big room, and very clean (the sheets smelled very good). The AC was good and not very noisy. The porch was nice. The outdoor bathroom was wondeful ! We can take a shower and enjoy the sun :) they have available movies that can be borrowed to watch them in the room.
The breakfast was very good ! Especially the egg benedict :) You can eat on the beach and enjoy the sea ! Their restaurant was very good too, we had lunch and dinners several times here. The menu was good and the prices were ok.
Bike renting on site. They can lend you snorkel mask, fins, socks for water and canoe :)
In short, we miss this place so much ! It was so hard to leave it ! Our stay was perfect ! Thanks again to all the staff, especially Yudha for his kindness and for the little gift in memory...
Read moreI'm going to start with the positives. The staff was excellent, very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. A particular shout out to Yudha for his help and guidance. The restaurant was very good and we enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners that we ate there. This was out first stop outside of three weeks in Bali so maybe our expectations were unreasonably high but the room was more like a motel room that a suite. The AC struggled to keep the room reasonably cool but the staff gave us a standing fan which helped. There was no chair in the room two hassocks and a low table. There wasn't really enough shelf space to unpack our suitcases and there were four hangers on an open clothes bar. The mosquito net was small and circular instead of square and the size of the bed so the netting hung in from the sides up against you as you slept. It was always a crap shoot as to whether the toilet was going to evacuate its contents, sometimes efficiently, sometimes after multiple flushes sometimes not at all. Our room was near the front of the property and there is a path leading down the middle of the units you needed to have your drapes closed unless you really wanted to get friendly with the neighbors. In the edition of Lonely Planet that I have this hotel has a star which is why we booked it. The staff was great the layout and amenities of the rooms not so much for what we paid and what we experienced elsewhere on our trip to Indonesia. That's why this is an...
