Visited Bakbi outlet in Kelapa Gading area for lunch. They put the menu in buffet style and you can pick the items accordingly. In this visit, I ordered boiled menu of Bakso Babi (pork meatball), Wonton Udang Babi (prawn & pork wonton) and Siomay Babi (pork dumpling), this will be served with Bakbi special clear broth. For fried menu, I ordered their Bakso Goreng Babi Udang (prawn & pork fried meatball) and Pangsit Goreng Babi (fried pork dumpling). For their carbs, I also tried their staff recommendation which are Kwetiaw (wide rice noodle) and Mie Yamin (noodle with sweet soy sauce). Overall, all the boiled menu and carbs menu is really satisfying for me. However their fried menu is slightly inferior to their boiled menu (in taste and seasoning, it's pretty lacking). For drink, I ordered their Es Jeruk Sonkit (it's taste kinda sour but in strange way, not gonna recommended it). For condiments like spring onions, fried onions, sambal, soy sauce etc is available and can be picked by you as needed (self serving). Also in the terms of hygiene, since all the menu is presented in buffet style, there're flies flying around and perch on the foods, so the hygiene is totally questionable and I could say that it's definitely not hygiene at all (even though the food will be recooked), hopefully they could attach some tools to repel flies or put some transparent lid over the foods, so the flies unable to perch upon it. For this visit to Bakbi Kelapa Gading, i'm gonna rate them 2.75 out of 5. For more info about foods, kindly visit...
ย ย ย Read moreThe queue was so long but worth the wait. What I like about the food is the broth, it is very tasty and homey, you also add condiments such as fried onion, pepper, soy sauce etc. The kwetiau I ordered is also very tasty, I thought the kwetiau is only ordinary boiled kwetiau, but itโs already seasoned before it was served to us. Lastly I tried many types of balls, everything was tasty from bakso babi udang, siomay babi udang everything is nice and goes well. I also tried fried pangsit, it was already fried but the reheated it before serving to us. Hot tea is free. But sadly I donโt get to try mie yamin as the cashier said sold out, but at the same time I saw that the raw noodle was still there and the person queuing after me got the mie yamin. Bad service at the cashier. The cashier also very slow. Actually the eating pace at this resto is very fast, but queuing for a very long time is because of the slow cashier I guess. Will come back again to try...
ย ย ย Read moreBakbi Restaurant has gained a reputation for its decent-tasting dishes, but one major flaw holds it backโits poor stock management. If you plan to have dinner here around 7 PM, be prepared for disappointment, as most of the menu is often sold out by then.
While the food itself is fineโnothing extraordinary but enjoyable enoughโthe experience is frustrating for customers who come expecting a full menu selection. The restaurant's consistent failure to manage stock properly raises questions about its planning and commitment to customer satisfaction. Running out of food occasionally is understandable, but when it happens almost every night at prime dining hours, it becomes a serious issue.
If youโre lucky enough to get your preferred dish, you might enjoy the meal. But if you donโt want to deal with the hassle of limited availability, itโs better to visit earlier or choose another restaurant that values customer...
