Very famous restaurant in Jakarta, a local "gem", or is it? Should I give it a 5 stars for being super popular? Let's do a fair analysis.
Food: 4/5. Comfortable, healthy, really yummy chicken porridge, the best imo. However, for some reason, they always seem to out of stock. Do you want to order special a Chicken Hainan porridge? so sorry, out of stock. Maybe a special bubur caipo? out of stock. Hmm how about ...? out of stock. They seem to always out of stock! too popular? or bad management? not sure. Sio Pakcoy Cah Bawang Putih (bokchoy cooked with garlic) is really something for me, a comforting and super healthy green. The tofus are good as well.
Ambiance: 3/5. Interior is ok. They use this fake wood-vinyl so blatantly everywhere, it's a cheap interior solution, so why not. Guess they don't really need interior when their porridge is so good.
Price: 4/5 Reasonable. Please read the menu by clicking the button over there.
Service: 3/5 OK, pretty knowledgable staff. They keep saying the food is not available though like wth, call the manager!
Facility: 4/5 Parking lots for 8 cars I guess? The uniformed satpam provide a service of moving your car if yours blocks other's, for free. (he'll reach you and ask your car key if you want to have your car moved without disturbing your meal time).
Location 4/5: Wolter Monginsidi street is full of cheap-mid-priced restaurants. The street is less posh than nearby Senopati street, but it feels more local and friendlier. There's a variety of other establishments too e.g. convenient store Alfamart, Japanese food shops,...
Read moreWe came back dining in for CNY lunch after almost two years of absence. We ordered various foods seen in the pictures. The winners were tofu special, steam chicken, and steamed shrimps. The rest were still good, though. The services were quick and responsive. The ambiance was standard. Overall, we actually gave between four and five stars.
Coming back for dine-in after some years, we ordered foods, some of which had ordered before. Yet, we found cakwe udang and bebek panggang were somewhat disappointing. The cakwe was too soft and it tasted rather bland. The bebek was juicy, but chewy. The winner this was cumi rebus. It was soft, and (the sauce was) delicious. The bubur was as good as always. The kepiting was, however, too thin; not much meat inside. The asparagus and kepiting soup stayed intact. The restaurant had moved to a new location. It looked smaller, but two floors and much brighter. So, it was more comfortable. The services were...

Itâs our go to late night eat - and itâs located in an area full of bars so it does attract an interesting crowd, the later it is. IYKYKđ
We walked in at about 9:30pm and were seated right away. It was a Saturday night and they had live acoustic music that was wrapping up. The place is renovated so it doesnât look like your typical Chinese restaurant - it actually has more of a cafĂ© feel to it.
We got the plain congee and cakwe to start, some protein dishes and a veggie dish. The food took some time so be patient! The sapo tofu was great. The green beans and beef was spicy and the salted egg squid had really good flavor. Get the Chinese tea - itâs wonderful.
Itâs pretty pricey - we ended up spending IDR 550k for a group of 3 - 2 plain congee, 1 cakwe, 1 squid dish, 1 tofu dish, 1 veggie, and 3...
