After a long two-year due, I finally revisited this cafe spot in North Jakarta during lunch with my friend. It wasn't too crowded, so we got seated immediately.
We decided to dive deep, sampling three of their main course and beverage We tried the Green Chili Fried Rice with Gyu Tan, Grandma's Meatball, and the good ol' classic Fish & Chips, and honestly, all three were winners. The Green Chili Fried Rice were the food that i chose; it's a creative twist on a classic, offering perfectly separated, smoky grains with a lovely, balanced spicy kick (you can request it spicier, but this hit my sweet spot!). The Gyu Tan slices were thin and tender, and the crispy prawn crackers and fresh pickles added great texture to this elevated Indonesian staple comfort food. The Grandma's Meatball was pure comfort: rich, flavorful gravy coating tender meatballs, balanced by creamy mashed potato, fresh broccoli crunch, and a side of jam that kept every bite interesting, my friend absolutely demolished this. And their Fish & Chips? A classic done right – crispy battered dory with perfectly cooked fries. Everything arrived piping hot, just as it should be. Drinks were equally impressive. My Iced Salted Caramel Latte was a revelation, perfectly balancing salty, sweet, and a subtle bitter note. My friends tried the Vietnamese Drip Coffee (a sweeter, distinct coffee experience thanks to condensed milk) and the Avocado Coffee, which they raved about for its incredible creaminess and smooth blend. We all agreed the drinks were excellent.
Overall still a high 4.5/5 experience. This revisit after two long years felt genuinely special. Even with a different friend, the experience was just as fun and nostalgic as my previous time here. The spot itself is incredibly comfy, truly the textbook definition of a great "work from cafe" location, perfect for hanging out. Plus, they even have private rooms for meetings and an event space – super versatile! Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, excellent drinks, and a cozy atmosphere. Until then, that's all thank...
Read moreParking wise, we came here in the evening, and wasn't particularly comfortable with the parking situation which was very counter-intuitive (driveway entrance from the driver's side instead of passenger's side). This is a RHD country and not LHD such as Europe or US. We're getting complaints from the security as well despite the poorly lighted verboden at night upon our left side (RHD) entry. This is clearly not a good start, and we take great offense on the whole situation.
Menu wise, we feel that it's quite discomforting to go back and forth scanning the QR code between the food menu and the beverages menu. The writings are also way too small for those not carrying tablets around, and the menu design has been quite confusing as it combined all of the above + all of the dining hours menu at once.
Service wise, it'll be best to let 3 guests or more to join up 2 tables from the beginning, especially when there are 90% of vacant tables around in the evening, and there are 6 different food items, 3 dinner plates, and 3 drinks coming in on a single table.
Food wise, we've tried many different varieties of the main courses, but unfortunately the majority of it seems to lack whole natural ingredients (very highly processed ingredients) - though they're really good to satisfy our craving for carbs and sweet snacks. It almost felt like we're having our weekly cheat meal, but we're actually quite happy about it.
Decor wise, it's quite on point...
