Golden Leaf — Restaurant in Jakarta

Located in an old shopping building, this old-school Chinese restaurant is surprisingly very big. There are tons of VIP rooms and two ballrooms for large scaled-events. Concept wise, I’m also surprised that the owner is still very much involved in direct management, even as far as greeting you and recommending you the good stuff from the menu.

One of the reccs from him is the Pai Kut Goreng, and boy this slaps and really just hits the spot. It’s surprisingly meaty, it still has the slight crunch despite generous sauce coating, and the portion is huge even for the smallest size one. The sauce reminds me of Marmite, but better because it’s not too sweet & just perfect. Ayam Rebus (Pe Cam Ke) here is also not bad. Not the meatiest chicken but their rendition of Pe Cam Ke plays more towards saucing and it’s quite good. This might work the best with rice. The Soun Goreng is also executed very well, seasoned just nice and not greasy, wok skill game must’ve been strong.

My take of this place is it’s best for huge pax and a good feast. For the portion sizing, all of the items are very generous so I’d say the price here has been the most impressive, especially if you compare to large-scaled neigboring Chinese Restaurants...

The food was great, owner was very friendly, vibe was pleasant and the service was quick.

I entered not from the Lobby Utama, thus had to walked through high stairs. If you bring older people, it’s advisable to not come from here.

They have live music, and can do karaoke. It’s too loud for me at the point it’s hard to communicate. If you want some privacy and do your own karaoke, they can do in private rooms though.

Blackpepper venison/deer was the bomb, it’s more the sweeter side. The sauce was thick and very tasty. The meat also tender and not chewy. Served on the top of crispy crackers. My favorite.

Lindung cah fumak, the fumak was very crunchy, the sauce was generous. Veggie still fresh. Very recommended.

Lumpia udang was very tasty and fresh, and ordered some tofu on top of veggie which was good as well.

All in all was a nice visit. The owner told us that they have live music until 12.00 AM. This is such a nice restaurant with kind owner and great service. They should have more customers with this level of quality. Semoga...

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, and I couldn't get enough of it. The flavors were rich and satisfying, and every bite left me wanting more. The chefs truly know how to create mouthwatering dishes.

What truly stood out was the owner's friendliness. He went out of his way to interact with the customers, and his enthusiasm was contagious. At one point, the owner even invited me to join them in a fun dance. It was a memorable and unexpected moment that added a personal touch...
