Oddity Coffee — Restaurant in Jakarta

Came on a saturday evening for a hangout. The atmosphere was nice and comfy. The staffs were nice and really informative.

We ordered Salted Foam Cocoa, Spicy Popcorn Chicken and Bakmi Ayam Jakarta. The salted foam cocoa was interesting. The salted foam was savoury and creamy. The cocoa was not too sweet. When not mixed, you can taste each component very well and both tastes nice. But when you mix them together, the cocoa taste overpowers the salted foam so you can barely taste the salted foam. But overall it's a nice and unique drink. We requested the spicy popcorn chicken to be mild and it came as per requested. The chicken was coated with a good amount of batter, not too thick nor thin. The batter was savoury and complimented the chicken well. The chicken was still juicy inside. The bakmi ayam tastes standard, but the condiment was quite complete. The veggies were crunchy as well as the crackers. The chicken and mushroom topping were okay, so was the bakso and soup.

Overall had a good time in Oddity. Recommended cafe to hangout, study, or even work. Will definitely come back again to try other...

Oddity is a coffee shop at one of the commercial area near a modern market called Pasar Mandiri Summarecon Kelapa Gading. The parking area is spacious.

They don't provide main dish, but here we could enjoy variant of pastries, cakes, along with coffee, non coffee, tea, blended beverages, and soda. Oddity has a very nice interior and ambiance. It would be comfortable to hangout here. Their staffs are young and friendly as well.

Here are what I tried :

Iced Americano (IDR 35,000) They use mixed Robusta and Arabica beans for this black coffee. If you're a pure black coffee fan without sugar just like me, we don't need to request anything as they serve the Americano without sugar already 🙂

Plain Cronut (IDR 20,000) Their cronut a.k.a croissant donut comes up in several flavors, such as plain, tiramisu, Oreo, chocolate, glazed, Nutella, Biscoff. I have been here before for a quick coffee and I can say that Oddity serve a good quality of coffee.

This time I spent almost my half day here to work. I enjoy their coffee and their place. It is a great alternative working place when you want to work in different environments. They have a long table in 2nd floor with a lot of space and also electric socket. It is very comfortable for working.

For the food, I think some improvements can be made. I tried their blueberry cheesecake and nasi goreng kampung. The cheesecake quite nice, only I can’t taste the blueberry at all. Nasi goreng kampung is good. The taste is spot on, however the rice’s texture is inconsistent. Some of them are bit mushy, but then there are some that are very grainy.

Finally, when it comes to the staffs’ attitude I really love how they treat the guests. They are very informative, friendly and helpful. They told me about the promotions and give me a lot of...
