Sate & Seafood Senayan, Salemba — Restaurant in Jakarta

Sate Senayan is standard place for enjoying Standard Indonesia cuisines.

From one branch to another the meals and services are quite standard.

Tried this Salemba branch and order fish but it was unavailable, so staff recommended another option and “failed” to mentioned that it was big fish for 2-3 people (it was by ounce—and I have ordered 3 other items)

Well, probably it was on me also but servicing customers to their satisfaction is the goal. For me, it is nit about the money but waste foods are just sad (many people strive to eat out there)..😔

Crowd ambience, not recommended is you looking for the quite place or for romantic moment for your dinner except you really don't care about the ambience and only looking for the best meals. Many people use this place for gathering for business client entertaining or family gathering. The food are delicious but you need to pay more for the bill. I ordered "ikan bakar", satay, and "Sayur Lodeh". Yes, absolutely very recommended for your lunch and dinner. The portions are good enough for two people or for your quality "me time".

Tourist trap. Avoid. They added things I didn’t order (crackers, banana fritters) and still charged for them. I assumed they were complimentary, but only realized when the bill came — way overpriced. And strangely, they insisted on card payment only. Looks like cards make it easier for them to scam you. Will never return.

P.S: I was charged 265,650 IDR for the food in the photo, including just a small portion of rice snacks. Honestly, this feels like a tourist price — I doubt locals are charged the same. It’s way overpriced for what was served. I won’t be...
