SEN LONG - Chinese Food — Restaurant in Jakarta

The food tastes really nice actually, just be prepared to get poor service. The waiters move really slowly. Mostly they just say yes, but little to no action.

I visited 3x in different time, during slow and peak hours. Same experience, really poor service.

The first time was around 20 visitors, our drink order and request for chili sambal took forever, 5 min after we finished our meal. The nearby tables got their drink and sambal faster, though they arrived later. Our drink order is simply hot tea, fyi.

The 2nd time was weekend and quite busy time, took forever to get our drinks order out we needed to hail 5x, almost done with our meal. One of the waiters said, “Sorry we are out of clean glass” sometime after our 4th attempt.

The third time was only couple visitors (less than 10 people). We only ordered 2 menus to dine in, 2 menus for take out. The first one came really quick, the rest order took forever after we finish eating the first meal. When I asked the waiter to pay, I still needed to come to cashier to pay, because the waiter seemed to not pass my bill request to cashier.

What else can I say? Definitely not my top place to visit especially when we come really hungry. I am beginning to get really upset. Most likely, we won’t visit again, unless we are...

Fish soup (Pic 1) 6/10 It's not tasty enough

Eel fumak (Pic 7) 6/10. Eel is too dry, so the meat is kind of tough

Fried noodle (Pic 8) 7/10

Braised pork belly (Pic 9) 5/10. It tastes only soy sauce. The meat is tough and dry. Look at the skin, it is not properly cooked.

Pork kidney (1/10) It is not clean properly. Smells like hell. We tell them, and they cancel that dish.

Slice fish (8/10)

Sen Long mix ice (7/10) It looks like this desert is a must here cause most tables are ordering this. Mix with all kind of fruits, and I think because they add durian inside it that make it so famous about this desert. For me, it is too sweet.

Overall, mostly, their dishes are good and tasty. Surely, I will come back to try their other dishes.

One more thing, make sure to make a reservation if you're going there for dinner. Cause it was full that night while...

My current favorite Chinese Food Restaurant located in PIK. The taste really suits my preference. I always love the Kerapu Tim Nyonya, Udang Yam Ha and Cumi Madu. It's fresh seafood. Recently tried the Samcan Goreng and it's also nice! We ordered dessert as well, half portion of the Es Duren Sen Long which is like a Pagoda tower (it can be up to 5-6 portion and we didn't finish the shaved ice). For the first time here I think it's okay to try, but to re-order the Es Duren next time, I'll think about it. They have different sizes for the menu portion from Small-Large. Small can be up to 2-3 people and Medium is up to 4-5 people.

The service is also nice. I came for the second time on weekdays and it's not too crowded today, so I didn't have to queue. However I would say the price is quite expensive for the food. The total bill is around 300K/person but I think it's really...
