Our recent visit to this steakhouse was a mix of highs and a small hiccup that I feel compelled to share. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, thanks to the great atmosphere, attentive staff, and the tantalizing flavors on offer. However, there were a couple of aspects that took the shine off an otherwise delightful meal.
Stepping into the steakhouse, we were greeted by an inviting ambiance that promised a memorable dining experience. The staff were friendly and accommodating, adding a personal touch to our evening. However, one of our orders was overlooked, leading to an extended wait for our friend. The management handled the situation well by offering complimentary fries as compensation, which helped keep our spirits up while we waited.
Speaking of waiting, the time it took for our food to arrive was a bit longer than anticipated, clocking in at around 20-25 minutes. To add to the unique sequence of events, the dishes arrived one at a time, despite the fact that there were five of us dining together. This approach did raise some eyebrows, but we remained optimistic.
When the food finally made its appearance, the flavors spoke volumes. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, and the taste was undeniably delicious. However, there was one noticeable drawback: the temperature of the steak. We were eagerly anticipating a sizzling, succulent experience, but unfortunately, the steaks arrived at room temperature—neither hot nor warm. This was a letdown, considering that a perfectly cooked steak hinges on that mouthwatering sizzle upon arrival.
Despite the temperature setback, the quality of the food itself was commendable. The meat was tender, seasoned to perfection, and the sides were flavorful accompaniments that enhanced the overall dining experience.
In the end, while the steakhouse provided a savory culinary journey with its well-crafted dishes, the temperature oversight was a point of disappointment. The atmosphere, staff, and the generous gesture of free fries demonstrated a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. Addressing the temperature issue could significantly elevate the dining experience and make it truly outstanding. If the restaurant can fine-tune this aspect, I believe it would be an absolute gem for steak enthusiasts seeking a well-rounded...
Read moreThis is my first holycow experience, and it didn't really leave a good impression on me. When we first got there, they looked a bit understaffed in the waitress side, so we had to seat ourselves, and call them again to get the menu. The waitress weren't very informative and half-heartedly took our order. And then later on they told us that one of the meal we ordered wasn't available so that was a bummer. We ended up ordering Australian Tenderloin, Australian Ribeye and their Aglio Olio Pasta. When I first got the Auustralian Tenderloin I was shocked when it arrived so quickly, I thought their cooking time was fast. But I was quite shocked when the steak that arrived (Tenderloin) wasn't hot - just a little warm even though the waiter warned me it was hot. Again, I thought it was normal. I think the rest of the meal arrived when I'm halfway done with mine (10-15 mins) and surprisingly they also brought MY order. SO BASICALLY THEY GOT MY ORDER WRONG. THEY GAVE ME OTHER PEOPLE'S FOOD. It went downhill from there. The taste of the steak was WAY TOO SALTY, the wagyu in the pasta was good tho, the sauce was good as well. Overall, not recommended, in terms of...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at Holycow Kokas after purchasing a “Tenderloin Special” voucher via TikTok Shop (with around IDR 20,000 discount). When I arrived and scanned the barcode menu, the item was still available so I proceeded to redeem the voucher at the cashier
When my steak arrived, I noticed something off. The texture and look were suspicious. But since I was hungry, I ate it anyway and it was clearly not real tenderloin. I asked one of the staff whether it was actual tenderloin or meltique, and she admitted it was meltique beef. No prior information, no warning, just silent substitution. None of the staff informed me too
I find this misleading and unacceptable. Nowhere on the voucher or menu does it say that the "Tenderloin Special" is made with meltique beef instead of actual tenderloin. That’s not a “special” , that’s a downgrade, and frankly, it feels like a scam
To the management: Don’t be sorry, be better. Be transparent with your customers. We deserve to know exactly what we’re paying for, especially when it comes to the quality of meat you're serving under a...
