This is an update from our old review
This chain has gone from 5 star, to 3 star, to 1 star.
It seem the pandemic hit them bad, and they can’t recover.
We always the shimeji tofu here. Always. So we know when the taste is off.
And in our last visit, not only the taste is off, the tofu itself is no longer fully tofu.
There’s a 5 mm thick base at the tofu that’s not tofu, the texture when tasted is different, even the colour is different.
We ask a wait staff what’s the ingredient of that base and the wait staff bring our food to the kitchen.
The response was denial “it has always been this way”
Well, then I will go with their play and mark their score as always been a 1 star.
If a kitchen is willing to deny what they put in a food, then that kitchen should not be serving food commercially.

After that, we had a meal at The Duck King Restaurant.
In my opinion, the food could use some improvement.
For example, the stir-fried beef looked pale, and the taste was quite ordinary.
Out of all the dishes, the only decent one—not particularly delicious—was the salted egg fried prawns.
The fish is good and fresh, but very small size
The vegetables were fresh, but the taste was just average.
The sambal was also quite ordinary; an XO sauce sambal would have been more flavorful and aromatic.

Read moreQuite disappointing now, unlike in the past their quality now drops quite a lot. The peking duck is actually still ok but for the rest they are not committed to the pictures on the menu. The photo looks nice but when the food came it doesn't look the same. Price is still premium but they are cutting a lot. For example their kungpao now uses no cashew nor the bowl made from dumpling flour but they keep the photo the same. The fried yam dimsum variant photo is always there but menu never available for more than 2 years! Such very low quality customer service that...
