First time to dine in here, when our daughter class mate celebrate his birthday. We choose 3rd floor as the choice of his parent appointment.
First, the environment of this restaurant. The most concern thing is the parking area. With not too wide area, the parking always look full. We must park our car in other part of the restaurant or further. My suggestions, we take taxi online or ojek online to get there.
Inside of the restaurant, in the first and second floor, I skipped it because it looks full table. And the 3rd floor where the stage in the part with all the musical instrument, ready to play with.
When I came in the saturday night, there's a live music that we can karaoke with the band. So fun. Including our children. And the ladies can dance in the floor following the song Sajojo, Maumere dan Kopi Dangdut as the closing song because the restaurant closed at 10.00 PM, we still there until 10.15 PM. No reminder from the staff, that's a good point. As we enjoy the nuance that night.
Second, the menu. Because of Sundanese food, the most thing to get is raw vegetables (usually called "Lalapan") and sambal. All of them are free. We can take it without limit as long as you eat not wasted.
With all the choice in the menu book, we took Gurame Crispy and Gurame Sambal Mangga. Our friends took package with chicken, tempe mendo'an and empal.
Taste of the food (as we ordered, both of it) are perfect. Combine with sambal and lalapan. We enjoy our food with happy face.
Only one complaint about the size of Empal, we think it is smaller than the picture in the menu book.
But that's only a little thing. Mostly enjoy and happy eating. Including our children. No complaint from them.
We order Teh Poci (teapot and 2 cups that made from clay) with Rock Sugar if want to sweet taste. The tea can be refilled.
I have not take the picture of the food, because hunger lower my intelligence. I'm sorry for that. And I took picture our children in action in front of the stage and the ladies in action.
Thank you for your time to read my...
Read moreThis place is always packed whether it be lunch time, dinner time or just odd times. Goes to show that this is a favorite around the area.
I happened to visit this place at around 3pm, the place was quite full. Ordered their ayam bakar, ikan gurame asam manis, buncis belacan udang and tempe mendoan with a side of red rice & regular white rice.
I love their tempe mendoan, its not too greasy and its not all just batter, theres actually a satisfying amount of tempe encased in the batter. It wasnt served with any sambal kecap tho so you better get one from the sambal station.
Buncis belacan udang is good, nothing special really. The buncis texture is still really snappy. Their ayam bakar is... Not the best and not my favorite. The skin was floppy and not at all charred as I desired, the seasoning was also not on point.
Their ikan gurame asam manis, I honestly prefer to eat it without the sauce. The sauce was way too watery for me, lack in viscosity and overall flavor. I would eat the fish with sambal mangga or sambal dabu2 that are available in the sambal station.
Ice tea / tea is free refill, which is always a plus point for me when something is refillable. Overall, a good experience, truly...
Read moreIt's a family restaurant with tasty Indonesian food, specifically Sundanese. They have buffet for lalapan and sambal, but the staff will hand you the veggies and your sambal of choosing.
The sambal options are: dadak (spicy), dabu-dabu (fresh and sweet), classic terasi, and mango.
We order nasi punclut which is a package personal menu including sayur asem, fried tempeh, and teri balado. The protein can be of your choosing (fried or grilled) chicken (1/4 cuts), fish (1/2 cuts), or beef. The taste was amazing and the portion was great.
We also tried their nasi pandan which had a 'pera' rice (meaning it's dry and separated from one another), and each was seasoned evenly with the spices. The aroma was amazing, savoury, and filled with the every right ingredients.
We ordered pepes ikan mas (steamed fish with spices) and it's super soft and all the spices were amazingly blended to the tender meat.
Tumis pakis kalimantan (can be with garlic or terasi) is also unique with the crunchy texture.
To further add the traditional vibe, don't forget to drink teh poci gula batu, which was tea brewed...
