We shared the most amazing cooking experience with Kadek on 28th December 2024. It was the high light of our stay in Amed. We requested that we wanted to learn authentic Balinese cooking in the traditional way no adjustment to suit western taste buds. Kadek was quite excited that we wanted the real stuff. That is exactly what we got !! To our benefit only we were booked in ( husband, 10yr old daughter and myself) it was very intimate and chilled. Kadek was an excellent host and teacher and made the whole experience really fun. We made the base paste for all dishes from scratch. My daughter also got right into it. We all had to cut and chop the ingredients . We got to taste the flavours while cooking and make any adjustments as needed. After 3 hrs all the dishes were ready to eat . I also work in the hospitality industry, and I found your staff’s body language to be very unprofessional when taking my order. Instead of asking properly, she just nodded her head with an annoyed expression, as if she was upset that I came close to closing time. If you don’t want to accept guests anymore, you could simply say that your restaurant is no longer taking orders or walk-ins. THAT’S IT!!
On top of that, my avocado juice had no taste at all—not even. At the very least, the service you provide to guests should be better. I’m very disappointed. Please train again your young staff to be more polite towards locals. Don’t discriminate!!!

Read moreWe had a wonderful cooking course at Amed Resto. The cooking course was for three hours and was given by the owner Kadek. Kadek explained to us in detail how we could make Pepes with fresh tuna, the Sate Ayam, and Dadar Gulung as a dessert. She was very patient, open and just a badass owner who taught us everything she once learned.
